When the Lord Jesus Christ was brought before Pontius Pilate he was asked "What is truth?". The Lord said For this I was born, and for this I came into the world: so that I may offer testimony to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice and Pilate asked what is truth. The difference in world view between these two men could not be more stark. For Pilate truth was was a clever philosophical piece of repartee while for the Lord truth is what one is, what one commits to, what one lives by. Is the truth clever talk? Is the truth something else and if it is then what is it?
