It might be the colored lenses that make the vision see different. When RCC says something doctrinal, it comes with attachments, traditions, and it creates its own color of how a believer is to see something. Without RCC lenses, the scripture itself speaks of the truth in a Hebrew setting, which God ordained.

What is water baptism on its own? Can that even happen?
Not sure what you mean.
Yet our Lord works in mysterious ways when the Law is written on the heart. When the Good soil is ready a meek man will.

The sign is not tied in time to the thing signified. In the sense that water baptism can happen without Spirit baptism, I would definitely affirm that.

God promises that the gift of the Holy Spirit is given in baptism. For those who believe that it's just a water baptism, don't you ignore Acts 2:38 where the promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit is given?

Good point. I would pay for it.
