Also, God gave specific instruction in that the "clean" (not the "not clean") flesh that could (not had to) be eaten could not have "the blood" in it (Gen. 9:4 KJB), and the "fat" already belong to the LORD (Gen. 4:4 KJB), and such was given "even as the green herb" (Gen. 9:3 KJB), just as the differences between the Tree of Life, & Tree of knowledge of good & evil (Gen. 2:9 KJB), and as the "green herb" (healing & service for mankind; Psa. 104:14 KJB) & the "thorns" / "thistles" (Gen. 3:18 KJB, a representation of sin to be rejected; Pro. 22:5; Heb. 6:8 KJB), and as "clean" & "not clean" (Gen. 7:2,8 KJB) beasts. Some of have incorrectly read Gen. 9:3 KJB* in thinking God allowed the eating of all flesh of any beast, but it simply is not so, while at the same time misunderstanding the intent, and length of time God allowed it. Look at the lifespans of the patriarchs before the flood (in the previous study on Gen. 5), and then look at the lifespans after, when mankind ate more and more animal flesh. Just as God said would be, the lifespan of mankind diminished until it is just under 100 (Psa. 90:10 KJB; most of the times, some exceptions) for the majority on earth.

Once the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the true "Lamb of God" (Jhn. 1:29,36 KJB) took place at Calvary in AD 31, would there be any more need of animal sacrifices? No, none ever again. Even the Temple itself would be completely destroyed in AD 70 (Mat. 24:2; Mar, 13:2; Luk. 19:44, 21:6 KJB).
  • Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
  • Heb_10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

In Exo. 12-20 KJB, God brings the peoples Israel out of bondage of Egypt, along with a "mixed / mixt" multitude (Exo. 12:38; Num. 11:4 KJB), and begins the reforms that are needful to save their lives from disease and destruction that had plagued the Egyptians for so long. God begins with a sabbath reform (Exo. 5:4-5 KJB) to bring them back to God's word, and then with diet reform, to correct the eating habits that brought so much illness and death.
  • Exo 16:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
  • Exo 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.
  • Exo 16:13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
  • Exo 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
  • Exo 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
  • Exo 16:16 This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
  • Exo 16:17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
  • Exo 16:18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
  • Exo 16:19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
  • Exo 16:20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
  • Exo 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
  • Exo 16:22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
  • Exo 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
  • Exo 16:24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
  • Exo 16:25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
  • Exo 16:26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
  • Exo 16:27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
  • Exo 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
  • Exo 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
  • Exo 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
  • Exo 16:31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
  • Exo 16:32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
  • Exo 16:33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
  • Exo 16:34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
  • Exo 16:35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
  • Exo 16:36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
God began by restricting the amount of flesh the people were eating, and provided clean birds at even, that had been raised in freedom of the wild and fed and cared for by God (Psa. 50:11; Mat. 6:26; Luk. 12:24 KJB), rather than in the disease-ridden markets / creature farms of Egypt. God also provided the morning meal with the "manna" / "bread" of heaven, the very "angel's food" (Psa. 78:25 KJB), since no death exists in the heavenly worlds above. God also provided them fresh clean spring water out of the ground and rock:
  • Exo_17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
  • Deu_8:15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
  • Psa 114:8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
God provided "bread" & "water":
  • Isa_33:16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Some people mistakenly think that Jesus' death upon Calvary negates all of these laws, but they would be very mistaken, and are putting their health at risk by violating these God given instructions:
  • Isa_42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
  • Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
  • Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
  • Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  • Luk_16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Mark 7 & Matthew 15 - Jesus declared all foods clean? No. A false translation & misunderstanding. The great Physician Jesus will set the record straight:
  • Mar 7:1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
  • Mar 7:2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
  • Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
  • Mar 7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
  • Mar 7:5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
  • Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
  • Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
  • Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
  • Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
  • Mar 7:10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
  • Mar 7:11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
  • Mar 7:12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
  • Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
  • Mar 7:14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
  • Mar 7:15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
  • Mar 7:16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
  • Mar 7:17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
  • Mar 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
  • Mar 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
  • Mar 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
  • Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
  • Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
  • Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

  • Mat 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
  • Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
  • Mat 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
  • Mat 15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
  • Mat 15:5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
  • Mat 15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
  • Mat 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
  • Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
  • Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
  • Mat 15:10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
  • Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
  • Mat 15:12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
  • Mat 15:13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
  • Mat 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
  • Mat 15:15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
  • Mat 15:16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
  • Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
  • Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
  • Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
  • Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Yet some cite Mar. 7:19 NIV:
  • Mar. 7:19 NIV For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
However, the NIV, & other 'translations' like it, are a GROSS FABRICATION & DISTORTION of the very koine Greek text itself, and the immediate context in Mark 7 & Matthew 15:
  • Mar 7:19 GNT TR οτι ουκ εισπορευεται αυτου εις την καρδιαν αλλ εις την κοιλιαν και εις τον αφεδρωνα εκπορευεται καθαριζον παντα τα βρωματα
  • Mar 7:19 KJB - Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
Jesus is speaking about lawfully "clean" food that the people of God could eat (not the unclean forbidden by God), & in immediate context was "bread" (Mar. 7:2 KJB) that was being eaten with "unwashen, hands" (Mar. 7:2 KJB) because the disciples (and thus Jesus through them) were being accused by the Pharisees (Mar. 7:3; Mat. 15:2 KJB). Jesus spoke to the Pharisees about their 'vain traditions':
  • Mar 7:3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
  • Mar 7:4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
The disciples still could not understand, & Peter asked Jesus:
  • Mat 15:15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
Jesus had to spell it out for them:
  • Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
The food eaten does not spiritually defile the mind, but goes into the digestive tract, and is purged (colon cleansed) by going to the toilet / ditch. Unwashen hands did not defile, but sin defiles.

Acts 15 & the great Jerusalem Council; a greatly abused passage
  • Act 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
  • Act 15:2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
  • Act 15:3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
  • Act 15:4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
  • Act 15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
  • Act 15:6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
  • Act 15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
  • Act 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
  • Act 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
  • Act 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
  • Act 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
  • Act 15:12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.
  • Act 15:13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:
  • Act 15:14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
  • Act 15:15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
  • Act 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
  • Act 15:17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
  • Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
  • Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
  • Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
  • Act 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
  • Act 15:22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
  • Act 15:23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
  • Act 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
  • Act 15:25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
  • Act 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Act 15:27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
  • Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
  • Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
  • Act 15:30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
  • Act 15:31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
  • Act 15:32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
  • Act 15:33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
  • Act 15:34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
  • Act 15:35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
  • Act 21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
  • Act 21:25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
The problem was not the health laws of God, but that certain men were teaching that physical circumcision and sacrificial laws which typified Jesus Christ were required for salvation (Act. 15:1 KJB). The health laws (Act. 15:20,29, 21:25 KJB) that "the apostles and elders, with the whole church" (Act. 15:22 KJB), along with the Holy Ghost in approval (Act. 15:28 KJB), referred to (citing Gen., Lev., Deu., even citing "Moses"; Act. 15:21 KJB) were always for the benefit and health of mankind.

The context of Act. 15:15-18 KJB*, where James cites Amos 9:11-12; Jer. 23:26 KJB shows that God was taking out of the Gentiles a people for His own name, along with a remnant among the Israelites. There were many Gentiles coming to Jesus in repentance (Act. 15:19 KJB), for God was "purifying their hearts by faith" (Act. 15:9 KJB) as well as among the Jews. God was rebuilding the tabernacle of David (Act. 15:16 KJB) so that "the residue [remnant] of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles." (Act. 15:17 KJB).

The very idea that God's health laws are no longer relevant to the Christian (Jews & Gentiles) based upon these texts is a serious violation of their intent and plainly stated words. They instead clearly uphold God's health laws, and that by the whole agreement of the church, under the guidance of God's word, the prophets and the Holy Ghost Himself.

This passage, and especially the text of Col. 2:16 KJB, is wrested (Psa. 56:5; 2 Pet. 3:16 KJB) by many persons. It is often incorrectly read, and deeply misunderstood by them.

  • Eph. 2:15 – “in his flesh”
  • Heb. 9:13 – “flesh”
  • Heb. 10:20 – “his flesh”

  • Col. 2:14 – “the handwriting of ordinances”
  • Eph. 2:15 – “the law of commandments contained in ordinances”
  • Heb. 9:19 – “Moses ... to the law ... blood ... book”
  • Heb. 9:22 – “by the law ... with blood”

  • Col. 2:11 – “putting off the body of the sins”
  • Heb. 9:26 – “put away sin”
  • Heb. 10:4 – “take away sins”
  • Heb. 10:9 – “He taketh away the first”

  • Heb. 9:9 – “was a figure”
  • Heb. 9:23 – “the patterns”
  • Heb. 9:24 – “the figures”
  • Heb. 10:1 – “not the very image of the things”
The very "meat" (koine Greek, [G1035] βρωσει, food) was a "meat [grain] offering" (Lev. 2:4 KJB) and the "drink" (koine Greek, [G4213] ποσει, drink) was a "drink offering", since Paul is directly citing from Eze. 45:17 KJB (referring back to Num. 28-29 KJB) speaking on the "ordinances" of the sanctuary.
  • Eze 45:17 And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.
  • Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
The "meat [grain] offerings" & "drink offerings" were the "daily" offerings (Num. 28:1-8 KJB), which came in mention before the 'festal days' (Num. 28:16-31, &c.) along with the 'new moons' (Num. 28:11-15 KJB) and yearly sabbaths (Num. 29:1-40 KJB; &c.). The text of Col. 2:16 has nothing to do with the dietary health laws of God. It has to do with the typological shadows that pointed to Jesus Christ, as the very context (Eze. 45:17; Col. 2:17 KJB) states.

1 Timothy 4:1-5 - Nothing to be refused
  • 1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
  • 1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
  • 1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
  • 1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
  • 1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1 Tim. 4:1-5, like Mar. 7, Act. 15, & Col. 2 is often misunderstood, and not studied carefully enough.
  • 1Ti 4:3 κωλυοντων γαμειν απεχεσθαι βρωματων α ο θεος εκτισεν εις μεταληψιν μετα ευχαριστιας τοις πιστοις και επεγνωκοσιν την αληθειαν
The word "meats" in koine Greek [G1033] "βρωματων", "brwmatwn" which simply means "foods", or anything eaten. However, the context speaks to that "which God hath created", which refers back the the origins of the earth, in the Creation by God.

What did God originally create to be "received with thanksgiving"? It was "every herb bearing seed" and "the fruit of a tree yielding seed":

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

In the beginning, God gave the fruiting plant life (trees, like the tree of life, "fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."; Rev. 22:2; & herbs, for the service of man; Psa. 104:14 KJB), not flesh, to mankind. The "clean" (Gen. 7:2 KJB) flesh ("even as the green herb"; Gen. 9:3 KJB) was given to shorten the lifespan of man much later (Gen. 9:5 KJB) as a temporary measure against sinful mankind. In 1 Tim. 4:4: 1Ti 4:4 οτι παν κτισμα θεου καλον και ουδεν αποβλητον μετα ευχαριστιας λαμβανομενον The word for "creature" is koine Greek [G2938] ""κτισμα", "ktisma", and it means anything created. In English definition it means the same thing:
So when 1 Tim. 4:4 states "every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused", the context is referring specifically to that which is "sanctified by the word of God" (1 Tim. 4:5 KJB). The word "sanctified" is koine Greek [G37] "αγιαζεται", "[h]agiazetai", and it means to be 'set apart by God for holy use'. In other words, God's word (the Bible) has to declare whether something is viable for diet or not. God has never, ever, anywhere in His word declared that the "unclean" (not clean) or the "abomination" (Isa. 66:17) is allowed for mankind's diet.
  • Act_17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
  • Isa_66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
So, the first step is to recognize that God from the beginning declared what was created to be received with thanksgiving, and as such the word of God has sanctified (set aside) the fruiting tree and its seed, along with the herb bearing seed, and by faith in God's word and prayer (in asking God for blessing) mankind partakes in that which is good. Yet, even in the book of Revelation, there are still things designated by God as "unclean":
  • Rev_16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
  • Rev_18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Peter himself, years after the resurrection & ascension of Jesus Christ, stated:
  • Act_10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
  • Act_11:8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
Who will mankind believe? God, or their other god (their own carnal fleshly desires)?
  • 1Co_6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
  • Php_3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Cornelius, a Gentile Roman soldier, loved God, and his people (the Jews) by giving "alms" (Act. 10:2 KJB) and was fasting and praying for more light & truth, and God sent a message by an angel (Act. 10:3 KJB). He was told to send chosen men to the city of Joppa for Peter to come and preach the gospel. Cornelius chose out three men ("two of his household servants, and a devout soldier"; Act. 10:7 KJB) and sent them.

Peter, also seeking for guidance, was fasting & praying, and became "very hungry" (Act. 10:10 KJB), and God about to arrange a providential meeting between Cornelius & Peter, sent him a vision also (Act. 10:10-16 KJB). A sheet filled with all manner of "common" (κοινον) & "unclean" (ακαθαρτον), but Peter refused to eat, and stated that, "I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean" (Act. 10:14 KJB); the vision given "thrice" (three times; Act. 10:16 KJB).

God had told Peter to kill & eat (Act. 10:13 KJB), in the vision, and that God had "cleansed" the "common" (Act. 10:15 KJB). Peter knew of God's unchanging dietary health laws, and so did not understand the parable of the dream and "doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean" (Act. 10:17 KJB). Peter, in both Act. 10- & 11, never once understood the dream to mean that God had cleansed the 'common' and 'unclean' animals for food, or consumption.

The dream was given "thrice" and "three [Gentile] men" (who worked for the godly Gentile Cornelius) show up at his door. The Holy Spirit helps Peter to understand that the parable of the dream meant,

"God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean." (Act. 10:28 KJB), and that
"God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Act. 11:18 KJB).

Act. 10:28 KJB shows the problem that Peter, and other believing Jews, needed to overcome and God set up a providential meeting to remedy it. Cornelius was not 'unclean', or 'common'.

The dream was never about p-i-g, but about m-a-n.

It was never about diet, but about accepting those persons amongst mankind that God desired to call to himself in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His Son.

It was about breaking "down the middle wall of partition between" (Eph. 2:14 KJB) both the Jew & Gentile, in Christ Jesus.

The Jews, in a confusion about being a holy nation and separate from the other nations, came to believe that mere contact with Gentiles was enough to defile a person, and so shut themselves off in a great way from taking the wonderful messages of God into all the world. There were some Gentiles who were learning of the true God (as Cornelius), but not many.

Even Cornelius himself was called, "A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway." (Act. 10:2 KJB).

There are a lot of people that read things into the text also, as if Cornelius served pork, and other unclean items to Peter while Peter visited, but no such things exist in the scripture. Why would Cornelius, a 'God-fearer', place anything offensive in front of Peter (his guest and messenger of God no less) to eat or drink that was not in accordance with God's own health laws? People may imagine all kinds of things, but let none such imagination take the place of a clear and plain statement by God's words. Read Act. 10-11 again, prayerfully, and any may see the message is about salvation of souls.

  • Romans 14:1 KJB - Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
    • Romans 14:2 KJB - For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
    • Romans 14:3 KJB - Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
    • Romans 14:4 KJB - Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
    • Romans 14:5 KJB - One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
    • Romans 14:6 KJB - He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
There are some which turn to the texts of Rom. 14:5 KJB by Paul saying that it teaches that God no longer regards the health laws, and each person may choose their own day and own diet. Consider the context very carefully (2 Pet. 3:16 KJB) and see why Paul is not speaking of such things, in Rom. 14, at all.

For more on the "sabbath" that some 'read into' Romans 14, see What is "the Lord's day", the 7th day, the 1st day or some other eschatological day, or something else?

Romans 14, deals with the days that “man esteemeth” among men, and therefore see Luk. 16:15 KJB. God always esteems His Holy day, the 7th day, the sabbath (Job 23:12; Psa. 119:126-128 KJB). The “one day” “above another” or “every day alike” in Rom. 14:5-6 KJB is associated with eating and not eating (vs 6), among “men”, which are days set apart for men for fasting / feasting, etc.

The Jews had constantly fought with one another over which days were better to do this or that (Mat. 9:14; Mar. 2:18; Luk. 5:33, 18:12 KJB). Some Jews decided that any day was proper (for eating / not eating, feasting / fasting), while others had specific days picked out [see also the historical apocryphal source the “Didache 8:1-2 – (8:1) And let not your fastings be with the hypocrites, for they fast on the second and the fifth day of the week; (8:2) but do ye keep your fast on the fourth and on the preparation (the sixth) day.” – [ Didache. The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles (translation J. B. Lightfoot). ] which showed that evil and erroneous mindset continued]. Paul stated that such controversy was not in harmony with love.

Each person’s individual decision on that matter was ok, so long as their conscience was clear, and that all did those things unto the LORD and to the glory of God, and not for personal gain / prestige / notice [as the Pharisees had done], but that what mattered was brotherly love, preferring one another.

Romans 14, should be read in connection with 1 Corinthians 8-10 as they parallel one another. Besides the days for feasting / fasting controversy, there were also issues with the Gentile believers purchasing food in the shambles [marketplaces], which food items may have been blessed or offered before idols before being sold.

There were some Jews, and possibly Gentile believers, which took offence at anyone partaking of those things because of the sudden connection to idolatry / idols. The (sanctioned by God’s Law; Gen. 1:29-30; Lev. 11 & Deu. 14, KJB, etc.) food items became ceremonially unclean (common) in their incorrect mindset, and thus thought to defile the body, yet Jesus said it could not (Mar. 7:18-20; Mat. 15:17-20 KJB).

Paul stated that an Idol is nothing (1 Cor. 8:4 KJB), but the persons (Jews & Gentiles) for whom Christ Jesus died were of the true and infinite value, and therefore, all are to regard the conscience of another, and cause no one to sin (Rom. 14:13,15 KJB), even if what was eaten was immediately lawful to a person, but even with such freedom within God’s law, not everything is always expedient (1 Cor. 6:12, 10:23 KJB), or best to do at all times.

There were also Jewish believers in Christ who were still under their vows, even Nazarite vows, and thus things of the vine (grape, etc.) in matters of eating and drinking became an issue. See also - What does the Bible say about "wine"? Are Christians to drink it?

Just because Christ Jesus died on the Cross, doesn't negate their vow - they still had to carry out what they said they would do. Reading Romans 1-16, the Law, the Ten Commandments of God, are spoken of and cited throughout, as eternal, being the present judge of sin (Rom. 7:7 KJB; in fact, how does anyone know they needed as Saviour? What Law was transgressed? Exo. 20:1-17 KJB).

God’s Ten Commandments are Eternal (Psa. 89:34 KJB), His Sabbath from Genesis to Revelation, even into the New Heavens and New Earth (Isa. 66:22-23 KJB). Therefore, let no one “wrest” (Psa. 56:5; 2 Pet. 3:16 KJB) Rom. 14 as many do.

The problem was not the "herbs" (Rom. 14:2 KJB), but the incorrect mentality ("doubtful disputations"; Rom. 14:1 KJB) surrounding the food sold in the Gentile "shambles" (marketplaces), that might have been offered in sacrifice to their idols. Some would not eat anything as such. The other problem was the matter of personal days of feasting (eating) and fasting (not eating), among the Jews. The text is clear that it is not about what God deemed proper in his "sure" (Psa. 111:7; 2 Pet. 1:19 KJB) and "settled" (Psa. 119:89 KJB) word, but rather it was about what "one man esteemeth" above another, which Jesus spoke about:
  • Luk_16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

The Sanctuary contains all the doctrines of God (Exo. Psa. 73:17).

EXAMPLE (DIET):

Salvation / Redemption, includes redemption in diet. The diet reform is to be progressive, onward and upward, going from all uncleanness back to Edenic perfection, in redemption. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Cor. 10:31) Beginning as the old man of sin, outside of the sanctuary, lost in the world and before light came, our body temples were polluted, filled with all uncleanness and defiled, and our diet consisted of whatever was not good for food and not good for drink [just as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, was not good for food, even though it looked good for food].

Christ Jesus having drawn us to His Home, in a country/wilderness setting, having left the Light on, in the “House of the Lord”, the Sanctuary, He invites us within the “gate” (Matthew 7:13-14; Luke 13:24; Jesus is the “gate”) to the court-YARD, by having provided a better sacrifice, the smoke ascending. Having accepted this invitation, we can no longer treat our body temples as we please, putting into it that which we put in before, ignorant of God's provisions of righteousness of diet of food and drink [will also include audio, visual, smell, taste, sensual, etc], for we are to be “living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1-2).

All are invited to come, seeing that the sacrifice has been slaughtered, but not just anyone is allowed into the “YARD”, for only those who have begun to have a relationship with the owner of the House, through the sacrifice provided, through the blood and through repentance and through faith. You may let a RELATIVE into the YARD, but do you just let any old STRANGER into the your YARD?

This COURT-yard, signifies at least three things, and the word “court” tells us this.
  • [1] COURT - a place of judgment, judges, law, of delineation between right and wrong
  • [2] COURT - a place for kings and regality, of nobility and high responsibility
  • [3] COURT - a time of wooing, to court a lover, to be taken into deep fellowship to prepare for the marriage
At the Altar of burnt offering / sacrifice, only the Clean [animal] flesh was allowed [Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14 KJB]. No blood is to be eaten and no blood to remain in the flesh [killed, blood spilled out, flayed, sodden [soaked in brine] and burnt [cooked well], it was to be poured out completely, nothing strangled, nothing sick or diseased, nothing died of itself, maimed or wounded. All of the fat was to be burned. Our diets go from what our god, our bellies (Php. 3:19; 1 Cor. 6:13), desired, to now what the True God desires - health of body, soul and spirit. This eliminates all such meats sold today, for they all have blood, bone, fat, disease, etc still in them. To eat these things, is to make oneself sick and diseased. God originally gave flesh, to shorten the lifespan of sinful man (Genesis 9:5 KJB), and only in the emergency situation, as a temporary measure, for Noah was to grow trees, fruit, have a vineyard. In the courtyard, Christ Jesus ate fish and lamb [on special occasions, not three times a day, for even the sacrifices were only 2 times a day, roughly 9am and 3 pm].

At the Laver, we see that we are to have the fresh pure water, cleansing the insides and outsides of the body temples, washing daily, keeping clean from all filth of the world as much as is possible in the things of physicality and spirituality. Waters also represent faith (John 6:35), and desire or hunger for righteousness and to do the will of God (John 4:34 KJB) - Jesus said “I thirst” - He was saying to humanity, “Give me faith!”, Jesus in His hunger, “Give me obedience (love; John 14:15; Exodus 20:6)!” Notice, that the Laver is spaced away from the sacrifice, which means to separate the drinking from that which is eaten. Wait at least 1 hr to 2hrs to drink, and your body will thank you for it. It was designed this way by God. If a person cannot go so long, try 30 minutes to 45, slowly increase the time. Drinking water with the meal causes longer digestion and fermentation to happen in the gut. In the Court-yard there is plenty of room for walking to and fro, for exercise of the legs and of the exercise of faith. There is room for all. Sunshine, fresh air, privacy from outsiders. Moving toward the HOUSE itself, within the YARD, we come to the “DOOR” (John 10:7,9). Do we know Jesus more than at the beginning, do we trust Him? KNOCK and it shall be opened (Matthew 21:22; John 16:24), but ask within God’s Law (James 4:3). At the DOOR are 5 “pillars” (Exodus 26:37), representing the 5 avenues into the inmost person - sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. Guard well these avenues to the soul, lest Satan sneak past and find an easy way in. It matters what comes into these. Pray that there is Jesus, who is greater in you, than he that is in the world [satan] (1 John 4:4). Jesus stays in a clean house (2 Chronicles 29:15).

Moving into the first room of the HOUSE, we come to the Holy Christian LIVING room. This is how the Christian is to live. Not just anyone in the YARD can come into the “Holy LIVING” room, you have to know the owner more personally. You may let a mailcarrier into the YARD, but do you let them automatically into your house? What have we then in this room? We are progressing away from the diets of the world, and the pots of Egypt and tables of Babylon and the delicacies and drinks of wicked kings, unto that which is at the LORD's Table, for righteous kings. No fermentation, no alcohol. The diet is now moving closer to Eden, that Paradise of God. One step at a time. To the North [right side], we have the golden TABLE of the LORD, upon which was Fresh Baked, unleavened Bread, and fresh Juice of the Grape (symbol of the blood of the Everlasting and Eternal Covenant; Matthew 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20; 1 Corinthians 11:25; Hebrews 10:29, 13:20), nothing Unleavened or fermented. Notice, we have left the courtyard, being drawn more closely to walk with Jesus, and we have given up the flesh, and moved to the grains [cooked], fruits, nuts, oils, and herbs. Mmmm, fresh home-made baked bread, whole grains, not drained of all nutrients and 'fortified' later, dead bread, will cause deadness of energy, seeds are powerful packed energy, and even those just sprouted ... yes, eat largely of the Word of God, daily. The Lampstand to the South [Left side] is filled with properly pressed oil [Olive], and gives Light. The Altar of Incense, is in the center of the LIVING Room, the family altar of Prayer, and special mixtures of herbs were used for the incense.

Now, having come to know the LORD even more, He begins to take us with Himself to the final room, the MASTER room, the Most Holy Place, where it is one on one [individual and sacred time], wherein is the Ark of God, in precious mercies, we move into a closer diet to that of Eden, Raw [Manna, raw foods], Almonds [Raw whole Nuts], the Fruit of the Rod [Raw Fruits], Leaf/Bud [Raw vegetation], and absolute Trust in what God daily provides, Eden is restored, the marriage complete, finally at-one-ment, forever joined to the side of the LORD, your mind and heart clear to see the beauty of God in His perfect commandments, His beautiful character, His eternal promises to love you always ... in this place, one is perfectly and willingly naked before God, nothing to hide, unashamed at knowing Him and speaking with Him, unashamed at His House Rules for that temple and the Temple of your body and mind, for therein behind the veil, for we now go fully into THE WAY (John 14:6), the curtain of God's love (Hebrews 10:20), is absolute privacy with the Creator, peaceful, no interruptions, and within the 10 Commandments, that Commandment of Purpose and Relationship, the Sabbath, the 7th Day, the Day of the LORD's rest, cease from your works, for your body was made on a rhythm, a cyclical clock, 6 days of work, the 7th of rest, therefore, rest in it with Him, for He awaits for you every 7th Day there, in the Holy and Sacred Temple of Time ...

Psa 77:13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

If there are any questions, or comments, or even just responses, on the individual studies above, please feel free to share those, so that the discussion and bible study may continue, so that, as one of my personal favourite verses of the scripture says:

3Jn 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

And a few more:

Exo_15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
Isa_53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
1Pe_2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
