It's really slow going up long hills but really fun coming down them.

Depends what I had for breakfast.

One horsepower is 745 watts, so based on normal usage about 1/4hp. If I stand on the pedals and thump up a hill I can get to about 1.25hp but only for a few seconds. Not surprisingly I can't put out as much power as a horse for any length of time :)

Coming down a local hill that twists and winds I'm only marginally slower than cars. On my most recent good descent a car overtook me at the top of the hill and a couple of miles later at the bottom it was barely five seconds ahead of me. The car that overtook me at the bottom of the hill going up was about 20 minutes ahead of me by the top...

Subaru Outback with lots of stickers, equipped with a bike rack in the summer and a ski box and studded snow tires in the winter.
