On our trip this month, we have been listening to the audio book of Lost In Shangra La by Mitchell Zuckoff. It is a true story that took place in World War II

Not music I'm big on, but pleasant nonetheless...just watched a film dedicated to a lyrisist ..so I looked him up out of curiosity to see what he contributed.

I suppose if you're alive and reading this, and feel a twinge of nostalgia, your parents or grandparents were fans.

I just finished watching "An Interlude in Prague" which featured this beautiful music at the ending credits:

Although there are words to describe even using the most eloquent description of this would seem diminishing. Just wow.

I have liked Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas for years but never have I heard them this wonderfully as on this period instrument set played by Paul Badura-Skoda. This is a beautifully packaged set in a clamshell case. No cheesy jewel cases. Disks in color matched cardboard slip covers. Each disk lists the piano concertos on it and the back of the slip covers have the full track listing. Disks color coded to the sleeves. The 68-page book is all in English and has 2 articles, Beethoven's Piano Sonatas and Personal Reflections on the Hammerklavier Sonata, as well as 2 brief discussions: The Pianos of Beethoven and The Badura-Skoda Collection (of the sonatas), photos of the pianos, track listings, The clarity is remarkable and I feel like I can hear the individual strings vs. a more blended sound from a modern piano. This set really makes the sonatas come alive for me.

What can I say about this band. The music is certainly not something I could listen to all that often. It's not even all that interesting. What is interesting is their up front - in your face - message(s). This song is 7 years old. They have songs on earlier albums that predict what has happened in the last few years...enough to give you goosebumps.
