No, we remove our shoes at the door and put them on a mat. I don't like dirt on the flooring anywhere because we have different types of flooring throughout the house and carpeting would be the worst to try to get dirt off of if we tracked it in.

Generally do not wear shoes in the house unless my feet are cold. Problem with not wearing shoes in the houses is I think it contributes to heels holing through in my socks a lot sooner than if I wore shoes.

Another question I have is do folks wear anything on their feet in bed. I almost always sleep barefooted. Even in winter with heavy PJs on. In summer I often poke my bare feet out the bottom of the sheets.

We take them off at the door. I generally wear slippers around the house, but barefoot in bed.

If I don't get enough thryoid medicine in my body my feet get super cold at night and I have to wear slipper socks to bed. Now I'm meds are on the high side and I don't need to wear them but before I go to bed my feet will get cold walking around the house and I'll wear heavy socks as well as the slipper socks.

I too am on thyroid medication. You should try to supplement as much as possible for thyroid health.
I take magnesium and mineral supplements among others from this site, www.rnareset.com

Yep, I take magnesium daily but no other supplements. Edited to add that I had my thyroid removed due to cancer 4 years ago.

My wife insists that if shoes continue to be worn in the house, the carpeting will get filthy, BUT that you don't see it as readily as when you've walked on bare floors. Therefore, people think, wrongly, that there's not much of a downside to wearing street shoes indoors.

Ouch! You are in a different situation than I. My sister, father, and grandmother all have had thyroid cancer. I have not. Doctor said I have a spooky family history regarding thyroid. I had nodules develop that were not cancerous (about 2014) but to keep them from growing the doctor put me on Levothyroxine and so I have to take it for the rest of my life I guess.

Yeah, it looks as if the doctor wants to suppress the TSH to keep it at a certain number so that cancer doesn't form. I don't know the data on it but they want mine in a certain range too so cancer doesn't have the chance to come back. Even though I had my thyroid removed, there are still small portions that remain inside because it's not like the kidney that can come out in one piece, it's like a river with little inlets. That small part that's remaining can also start to grow again. Pretty weird.

Weird but it must be the programming in the genes. I recently learned that a female dog if spayed can still go into heat if they don't get all the tissue removed. Some of it will produce the cycles anyway.

We don't wear shoes in the house Normally go barefoot unless it is our 2 months of winter, then I will wear socks. At this time I may wear socks to bed as when my feet are cold, I am cold.

Another downside of not wearing shoes in the house that I was painfully made aware of yesterday is that you are more likely to stub your toe on something.
