Well our meal this year is antipasto salad for starters then homemade ravioli and garlic bread and for dessert eggnog pie (my choice since we'll be celebrating my birthday) and my husband's mom's brownie recipe.

We will have turkey, my dressing, potatoes, green beans for sure. I think I will pick up single serving bundt cakes in probably the pumpkin flavor. (we have a specialty bundt cake place here) We don't do too much for deserts so this is one way to have a desert and not have anything left over.

I'll stick with my tradition and bump the sweet potatoes.... off my plate and into the trash where they belong :)

Seriously, I'm really not a fan of the traditional meal. BUT it is tradition....

I like family and friends getting together. THAT'S what I look forward to.

I could "bump" pretty much all of it, to be honest (although I like the dressing).

If the full traditional meal is not altogether your "thing," What SUBSTITUTIONS might you suggest?

How about Fajitas or fish tacos?

Or maybe some good BBQ, maybe Brisket? With beans and slaw and grilled corn? I'm not really a meat person, but good BBQ is a GOOD thing.

Some good grilled fish or scrimp and grilled veggies? Among my faves....

Not to sound unamerican....

We have been invited to join another family for Thanksgiving and we haven't met them yet, so it will be awkward. I have no idea what they'll be serving, but we're bringing homemade ravioli.
