In the 1980's, a lot of people became hear no evil, see no evil, in sin. A lot of people have been blind and deaf to somethings. Suddenly waking up to the reality, that can be soul crushing. I am going to try to ease a reader into this topic without obliterating.
In 2013, I was a pretty regular man. I had been a life long Christian. I thought I was saved. I had not been saved. I received a calling from God around the age of 30. (Luke 3:23) God was talking to me. I worked to build the Kingdom of God. Working to build the Kingdom of God, I engaged in a lot of Spiritual Warfare, and God has used me to pick fights, or just catapulted me into something, and then we tore everything up. Engaging in spiritual warfare, and closeness to God, is how I learned about Satan and Satan's schemes.
Good Starting Point
Socratic Paradox - Given all men are out to do what is good, or in their best interest, how can evil exist?
We can answer this paradox with the existence of Satan. Satan was a liar looking to skew man's perceptions. Satan worked to put man into darkness as The Prince of Darkness. Was someone in The Dark or The Light of the Lord? (Ephesians 5:8)
Adam and Eve, there were doing pretty well in the Garden of Eden, with God, being obedient. Satan comes along and he skews perceptions.
God, through Moses, lead Israel out of Egypt. Moses goes away for 40 days and 40 nights. Satan comes along and skews perceptions. When Moses comes back, he found a false idol, a golden calf, and the Hebrews were attributing things God had done to a false god they had made for themselves.
Evil would be darkness and separation form God. Satan was a liar and a thief.
Understanding this Socratic Paradox, this was my starting point learning about Satan and Satan's schemes.
Angels v Fallen Angels and Demons.
There is a difference between Angels and Fallen Angels and Demons.
An angel was a created being with a function. God tests the heart. (Deuteronomy 8:2) Satan, as an Angel, had a function around testing the hearts of men.
Arch Angel Michael has been "Most like God." Arch Angel Michael has been known as mankind's advocate. Satan was an accuser. God is a Judge. We have a courtroom.
A demon was born of the sins of men. A demon may have been attached to particular sins. Cain murdered Able. This was the first murder. A demon may have been born out of that. A demon may have been "A Satan." A Satan may have been a demonic ruler of a principality. Satan means "adversary." There is Satan a fallen angel. There may have been many Satans, as in rulers of Principalities who were not followers of God.
So far, this is pretty easy and light. When I start to show the cause and effect, and where certain entities are, and what they have been doing today, that can be soul crushing. We will leave it here, for a moment.

- 8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? (Job 1:8,9) - 7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for [b]them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” (Revelations 12:7-12)
