My wife puts campho-phenique on bites. It doesn't smell great but usually works well.

They don't bother me at this point, I just don't itch them and they go away in an hour or two. My wife on the other hand gets them very bad, usually she uses hydrocortisone cream. She also recently bought this thing on Amazon that is really hot, it is supposed to stop the itch. when you touch it to the bite.

Put a heavy crease across it with your fingernail. I usually do two creases crosswise. For whatever reason it seems to stop the itching.

A mixture of baking soda and water, which can help reduce the itch.

When I was 7 my best friend said her dad told her to do that and most of the time it does help. I don't know if it's a pressure related thing or what.

A big glass of Scotch. It'll still itch but you won't care.

What's your method to treat a mosquito bite? I have 2 bites on the top of my foot that are driving me crazy.

First of all, I don't worry about 2 mosquito bites. Or, 3 or 4. Mosquito bites are a dime a dozen.

But, if you go down to the coast of Texas, you will encounter hundreds of mosquitos eatin on you past sundown. Make sure you don't pass out outside by yourself.

That said, here is a 'home remedy' of mine passed down through my mother's side. It is for any skin irritation. It can be for skin infections or bites from any thing such as poison ivy or poison oak. I have used it often and found it always works. Even on a 'staff infection' I caught when nothing else would work.

Hard wood ashes and water. You make a poultice out of it. A thick paste. Put it on the infected area and it will kill it. Just be careful, as ashes and water makes lye. But if you got a staff infection, and no antibiotics are working, who cares?
