How about you sticking to what the holy scriptures teach rather than fooling around with what you think I may or may not have. I've witnessed you speak very wickedly of my church (church being the body of Christ and not a building) so I have great caution in what I am willing to reveal to you about my spirituality.
Hopw about sticvking to what you believe rather than trying to get around it?

Any personal relationship with God can only come about because God first gives faith to us so that we may believe. Is it more important to focus on what God has done, is doing and will be doing than how friendly we are to Him. If we keep our eyes on the Savior we can't go wrong. If we look back to see how we're doing (even if it's a personal relationship) then we're focusing on the wrong thing. When we were growing up did any of us have to worry about having a personal relationship with our parents? In normal healthy lives the parents take care of the child and the child in turn loves his parents. He wants to be good because they are his parents but it doesn't earn him a spot in the family by being good.

Lamm this has nothing to do with earning anything, it has to do with a close personal relationship with Jesus, that is critical to hearing and obeying, it is most important in terms of where do we place Him in our lives, is He really central and most important? among other things and yes, the Word talks of this in many ways, how personal do you think it was when Saul got knocked off his horse and Jesus spoke to him?

I believe in God the Father almighty - maker of heaven and the Earth - and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord. ... The Creeds summarise my faith very well. I've said this before.

Some appear to be dissatisfied with a reply that says Christians are saved by grace and wish for some alternative wording like I have a personal relationship with Jesus. Personally I don't see that value in the latter without the former.

I suspect you are not observing things very closely.

It is like this.. I asked a fellow in church, "if you had to make a choice, would you choose church or Yeshua".. He chose "church" and defended it like you can not find Yeshua outside of church. I think that box doesn't contain Him. He is more than what a box/church can hold.
