There's several older people here, so I thought I might throw this out there.

I have a corn on one of my feet. It's basically the only thing I'm considering going to the doctor for. I can't get rid of it. Soaking in water helps, and so does Turmeric (topically applied), but after a few days I'm feeling pain again and this morning I woke up early because of the pain and had to soak it again. It's a horrible nuisance.

Anyone who has successfully gotten rid of one I'd like to hear from. The method can be allopathic or alternative.

Have you tried honey? I haven't had corns but I did have a sore on my foot from stepping on a thorn in my garden and honey helped. It took a long time of covering it up and it went through my band aid and got my sock all nasty.

Soaking corns in warm, soapy water softens them. This will make it easier to remove the thickened skin (corn). Once you've softened the affected skin, rub the corn with a pumice stone, nail file, emery board or washcloth.

I am as capable of doing an internet search as anyone. Doing what you suggested has not worked as a permanent solution. This is why I asked for personal experiences.

Just go to a doctor. No reason to suffer with pain for so long.

I once got honey cream from the vet for my rabbits to heal wounds.

My mother had em and went to the podiatrist for it and she had those patches for it with a hole in it.

Just wanted to do a short update on this thread.

I have not seen any medical people yet for what I consider a fairly minor (but super irritating) problem. Sort of just going a day or two, then soaking my foot for a few hours for relief, then back to another day or 2 then repeat. The problem has since gotten worse. It's affecting my sleep. I often wake up early in the morning from the pain. Not only that, but I have stopped taking routine walks, which has led to my lower legs getting sore as well.

O K. So, I spent an entire day at home and basically did nothing cept stuff on the computer, and I soaked my foot the entire time in a mixture of water, cinnamon and turmeric. Oh...relief. Part of the hardest section of the corn popped out with a little plying from a nail clipper.
Then I wrapped my foot several times in a wet, thin cloth and went to bed. Finally got some sleep that night. However, pain again when the
cloth dried.

I think this is what I am going to have to do for a while. If I want to be up and around, I've got to keep the area moist, because this brings relief. That means wrapping something around it if I'm not soaking it. I'm hoping that if I am diligent about doing this (and getting some new foot-ware) this should fix it up. We'll see.
