If you believe as I do
that the bible is the inspired Word of God
then it may not be God
but it is His Word
so make of that as you will.

The Bible is a Holy Book...
It was caused to be written by God...
Holy men of God wrote it...
It was never written so be a substitute for God...
That work was done by the Prophets...
Their words were then recorded in Scripture...
The Bible directs us to God...
God the Word is God...
God's words written down in a book are not God...
They are God's words...
God's Word is the Only begotten Son of God...
Therefore the Bible is not the Word of God...
The Holy Bible is a record of God's words...
Written words are not God...
Written words did not bring Salvation...
But Christ Incarnate in the flesh sure did...
And His Holy Body, Flesh and Blood...
Is still here on earth under His Headship...
And in it He is still bringing Salvation to man...

This is a strange topic...

Agreed.

I never deny that some person MAY have said something. There are probably Lutherans who believe they were abducted by aliens and had sexual experiments done to them. That just doesn't make that a Lutheran dogma. I don't care how crazy the thing, some Protestant probably said it (maybe hundreds of 'em) but since there are some 300 million or more Protestants in the world, it doesn't make it a Protestant dogma.

There are time when Protestants (like the Bible itself) refers to Scripture as the Word of God and also Jesus as the Word of God. Maybe it would be more TECHNICALLY correct to say "the WRITTEN Word of God" and "the INCARNATE Word of God" but Protestants (like the Bible itself) don't always do that. But it's not a Protestant idea that a book is God. Obviously. And absurd, IMO, to even imply otherwise. Even though there probably is a Protestant who thinks that (just as there probably is one who insists he was abducted by aliens).

Many Protestants believe that Scripture is inscribtured by God and thus is Authoritative and inerrant. But that doesn't make it God. I honestly don't think there is a difference between Catholic and Protestant perspectives on the NATURE of Scripture. Or the Nature of God.

The bible is a book whose content is either the whole of holy scripture or a part of holy scripture. What makes scripture holy is the one who gave it and inspired it. The book is not in itself any more holy than other books but the message it contains is holy because it comes from God and God is holy.
