Last Friday I began seeing a therapist. Haven't seen one in a long while. The first thing we have started working on is my self esteem issues. I am to find one good thing about myself every day. It's harder than I thought it would be!!

I love to do art therapy with my clients. I have been a therapist for about two and a half years now. You can learn a lot about people by what they create, colors they use and how they choose to express themselves.

I haven't done any art therapy with her yet. I'm afraid to attach bad things to art work. I want to associate good things with my art.

What if you used a totally different medium for the bad things? That way you can save all the good stuff for your normal art and still be able to express yourself in all emotions?

Painting is fun! If the things I or my kids make turn out ugly I just hang them in the toilet room.
My son once made something with a lot of colors, but he had to use all colors, also black, and mix it all. It became one brown mess. I said: that's gorgeous! We'll hang that one in the toilet.

Just saw this post. I'd have to think about that. Haven't done any art therapy so far. I'm not really interested in it at this point.

The only kind of painting I've done is water color.

There is also music therapy! Maybe ask your therapist about it if you would prefer that over art?
