A quick guide from my memory.

Law..............Main body of law like the 10
Commandments. Short.
Statutes......Aditional regulations of the
not so important areas
Procedures for the laws
Ordinances...Result of judgements that
create law

Sample:

L. You will not drive over 55 miles

S. Creates police department and allows
them to stop you and give you a
ticket

O. You go court and they find you guilty
or not. Need to pay ticket fine.
These are procedures on how to
enforce the laws and statutes.

It does get confusing when people think that the law, statutes, ordinances are all the same thing. I like the way amadeois explained it.

No problem... I am rather direct and to the point... hard to tell if I did it in kindness, which I did, or in harshnes... because of its brevity. Glad to know you took it in the right spirit of things. Looking forward to your input on the difference between ordinances, statures, and the Law of God.
