... having waited in all day for my drywall delivery, it's not being delivered today. They offered me a delivery first thing tomorrow, but I said to wait until Monday. At least now I won't have to figure out how to manage parking, with the garage full of drywall for several days. I just hope my drywall man can come in next week to do the work.

Nice weather today so went out for a walk. I wasn't sure which loop to do so went for the 5-mile option. It warmed up nicely, it was good to be out in shorts and short sleeves. Felt like a good blast too, a nice fast walk.

Got a few things done today. Prepared some slideshows for our church's Lent services, then prepared a slideshow for our annual coins collection and made a few tweaks to some other techie stuff. Then made some updates to a piece of code I've been working on, and went into town to run a few errands. It's good to be feeling more or less human again.

Glorious day today so will probably go for a longer walk around town. Itching to get back into the woods but probably best not to really hammer my heart and lungs until this coughing is completely done. Most of my longer walks take me past our church so I can stop in and get some files ready for the service tomorrow.

Then I'll probably take advantage of feeling better to finish off a wiring job from a few days back. With enough time to start and finish it I should be good to go.

Nice fast walk today. My legs felt like they were unstoppable. Had I not been dealing with the tail end of a nasty cough I'd most likely have broken into a jog to see if I could hold a little more speed for longer. Glorious day, although somewhere slightly awkwardly between too warm for an outer layer and too cold to take it off. Still, I enjoyed my walk very much.

This afternoon I may finally get to grips with this electrical job. It's going to involve going up and down stairs a lot, and dismantling three different circuits to get it all done. It feels like a real drag having to do so much in different places, many of them awkward to get at, but once I can muster the mental energy to start I should be able to finish it fairly quickly.

Good morning all, had about 12 hours sleep last night, having a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast and my morning coffee.

I got my electrical work done. It was a monstrous headache. The first part, running a replacement cable to the first socket on the circuit, was an absolute breeze. The other socket that was wired to it was easy too - the cable on it was long enough to reach where I wanted it to go. So far so good. Then came the headache. The socket that was wired with old ungrounded cable needed to be replaced, as did the cables feeding in and out. Getting the new cables run in was fiddly because nothing was very accessible. Then I found the new back box with space for a grounding screw didn't fit because whatever idiot put it in didn't bother to check where the wall studs were, so ended up cutting a chunk out of a stud. The new box was a little deeper than the old one and wouldn't fit. The old one didn't have a hole for a grounding screw and was too hard to drill and tap. For good measure the old one was only just big enough to get a new socket, with ground terminal, into it at all. So every which way I had to improvise, and for good measure I was working under a piece of furniture which really didn't help.

But I got there, even if I did have to fight the temptation to throw things many times along the way. Note to self, I do not want to be an electrician by trade.
