Had a really badly disturbed night last night so didn't do my scheduled workout. I'm hoping it stays dry for enough of tomorrow I can do it then.
Instead I got busy with strings and cables. I managed to run a string across the entire length of my porch and used it to pull a new length of cable between two light points. Now I've got a ceiling box in place where one light is going to go, I've got a ceiling box ready for where the final point is (eventually it will hold a fan/light combo), and another box ready for where the first light in the chain goes. The cable to that first light needs to be replaced, which means drilling a hole through the wall and feeding it into the porch roof cavity. That can wait until tomorrow. I'm also going to need to fill the hole around the cable to stop drafts/bugs/etc and just ran out of motivation to do it today. Once that is done I'll have two lights on the porch, both controlled by two switches at two external doors. Before I started this piece of work I had two lights, each controlled by its own switch, and the wiring was nasty knob-and-tube. Now another piece of knob-and-tube is removed, coiled up and in my scrap metal bucket. It's all progress.
