Taught the older kids Sunday school class for the first time. I had been helping my wife with the youngest class but really struggle with that age group because it's so hard to get anything much from them. The older class (ages around 9-13) can actually discuss things and give some useful interaction.

Hello afternoon all! How's it going so far with your day? This morning, I've had a shower and a hair wash on this particularly cold autumn day. The afternoon, just enjoying my usual TV show before falling asleep tonight.

Didn't feel like a great morning. My mood hasn't been the best lately and rainy days don't help. When the rain stopped I went for a run - my tracker's suggested workout was to pretty much go for it, so I went for it. Sadly I went for it too hard and had to keep slowing to walking pace to get my pulse back down but along the way I accidentally took five seconds off my fastest mile time. So it wasn't all bad.

I felt super tired this morning. Could be because rain was on the way. This evening I'm relaxing and watching a show about Prince's death.

It's a beautiful morning out there!! Doesn't feel like a Wednesday to me since my husband worked from home yesterday.

My wife had a friend around so I chatted with her for a bit and then cleared off so the ladies could have some time. I went for another run - a slightly easier pace than yesterday but still needed to slow to a walk for a couple of minutes in the middle of it. Even so it's good to be walking for a small part of it rather than for many short intervals throughout the route, and the kind of times I used to regard as targets a few weeks back are now more or less routine for me. I'm obviously getting fitter. My tracker has a "race predictor" on it that estimates what time I can complete race distances. It has given me an estimate for a 5k that's about 20 seconds slower than my personal best. Except my personal best was on a treadmill 20 years ago - it's estimated time is a full three minutes faster than my best times on actual roads in times recent enough to be relevant.

Nice walk this morning, and just got finished mowing the lawn. The mechanism that operates the drive to the wheels on the mower has glitched again. Last time it happened I was able to fix it, but I can't remember what I did. I think then the trouble was that something had gotten into the works. It's difficult to get at much of anything without turning the thing over, which means running it until all the gas is gone first. It's not designed with maintenance in mind.

Ugh. I had hoped my doctor's appointment would move things along for rescheduling the surgery she canceled last year but now she's hinting that I might have to have a different doctor with more experience do this surgery. This is insane.

Chances are it's just a bit of crud in the works again, but this thing seems like it's designed to be as difficult as possible to do anything with. To change the oil you have to empty all the gas out of it, then lie it down on one side and tip it further to drain the oil out, and the oil cap is about as inaccessible as it's possible to make it so adding new oil is difficult. I ended up buying a funnel designed for transmission fluid because it's the only way I could see to add oil to the oil tank without adding it to every other part of the mower.
