Well I survived teaching the kids about Elijah and thankfully so did the kids. This could become a regular thing, one Sunday a month.

I went to bed early last night because either my allergies are acting up or I'm catching a cold. So now I'm up early this morning and already ate breakfast. Catching up on the news now.

Finishing a cup of coffee, then going to hit the mountains again. I'm a little under 1700 floors for the month according to my Fitbit. 41 more floors makes it my best month ever (knocking out July of this year), I think I need 318 floors to get to 2000 for the month. I can get 200 today, just debating whether to make it a longer walk to get the extra floors in today. Weather tomorrow should be OK but the rest of the week is a bit iffy.

I got my walk in. The first climb felt like a battle, the vista was beautiful even though the light was a bit hard, and the final climb before the long descent felt like a breeze. Some days I really take in the views, other days I just walk and think. Today was more of a walk and think kind of day.

This month is now my best for floors since I got my fitbit in 2016, and if I can accumulate another 126 floors before the end of Thursday I'll hit 2000 for the month.

Got another walk in today. I wanted to hit 2000 floors for the month, and slammed through my goal even if the climb up the first mountain felt like an ongoing battle. As fortunate timing would have it, my cellphone rang as I was approaching a spectacularly beautiful vista with a call I'd been waiting for. My caller asked if she should call back, so I just said I was happy to talk because I could sit and enjoy the vista.

So far my floors total for the month is a little under 2100. It would be kinda cool to hit 2170, as that would mean an average of 70 floors per day, but with rain coming for the rest of the week I think that's a tall order. Perhaps working on the house tomorrow will see me going up and down often enough to chalk up a load, but for now I'm happy that I not only hit 2000 but that I've beaten my previous best month by 350+ and still have a couple of days to go.

I had hoped to get to 35,000 lifetime floors by the end of the year, but that's a really tall order - I'm at something like 31,500 so far so I'd need two more storming months even as it gets colder. If the weather stays mild until the end of the year it might just happen though...

It's not as wet as the forecast said so my wife and I went for our walk around town. It's a gentle bimble compared to my walks in the mountains but good to stretch our legs and get a bit of exercise in. Come the winter the chances are we won't get out much.
