I made french toast yesterday. Today I'm having cream of wheat. My throat is hurting so I'm not going to church because we have an older congregation and I don't want to infect them.

Todays my 6th anniversary to [MENTION=93]king of the unknown[/MENTION] .. We are going to spend the day together. Going to go out to eat tonight. Not sure where though.

Just got back from going out to eat. We had pizza.

I spent a couple of hours today mowing the lawn and then bagging up some leaves. It was a pretty mild day outside with the weather.

I didn't.

That should be your next house project...sewing things like draft dodgers! That was one thing I made yesterday to go in front of the fireplace because cold air comes in through the vents. I hate having a gas fireplace. We shut off the gas line and I covered the vents with magnets but there was still cold air coming from the bottom so I sewed a fleece draft stopper with a mattress pad filling. It seems to be working.

Just having some coffee and watching King of Queens. I've seen every episode about 10 times already but it's still funny. Arthur really cracks me up!

Feeling rather silly at the moment. Last night I adjusted a radiator and found a leak coming from a very old valve. Fearing the potential consequences of me tinkering with it in the middle of the night I wrapped towels around it to catch the leaking water and called the plumber this morning. It turned out all he needed to do was tighten a single nut and the problem looks like it's resolved. D'oh.... I could have done that, if only I'd known how simple it was. He didn't even charge me (he's a local guy who does assorted jobs for me).

He's been a real blessing, being willing to share some expertise in and around doing a couple of paid jobs for me. I think I need to buy him a case of beer for Christmas, as a thankyou for all the assorted small stuff he's helped with and not charged me for.
