Now, I'm seeing national attention swivel back from the Royal Wedding to President Trump trying to cast doubt on the people tasked to investigate him and possible collusion with Russia. Very entertaining, but it's getting a little old.

What news source do you consider to be the most objective anymore? They all seemed to be either one side or the other.

Are any of them objective? Most of what I see that passes for news is little more than an opinion piece.

I always thought that newspapers from earlier in the 20th century would be objective until I looked in the archives and saw that they were spewing a bunch of hate back then too!

You could try some overseas news as that seems to be more objective and sometimes contains things that are not reported here

Off to the hardware store to choose a honking great wrench. Not looking forward to my total bill this month, yesterday I bought a nailer (don't need it just yet but they had a special on that was too good to pass up) and my wife bought some stuff for around the house. This month's bill is likely to be more than the last several months put together. I also ordered a router and a battery-powered fan. The fan is more for times like outdoor events rather than anything indoor (big window box fans are cheaper and more effective, when AC power is available). Going to be the most expensive month, tools-wise, for a while.

At one point I'd have said " BBC- America," but they've got their own spin, just like CNN or Fox News. It's getting to the point where news isn't news as much as it's entertainment. Another institution to confirm people in the prejudices that they already have.

Well I got myself a 24" pipe wrench. Hopefully this will be big enough and ugly enough to get the nuts off my radiators. I just hope they aren't fused in place, having probably not moved for half a century or more.

I thought what I needed was the giant crescent wrench but it was going to run to $70 and it was borderline whether it would be big enough. The pipe wrench I chose is bigger and was only $25. The larger size of pipe wrench is enormous but costs nearly $150 so I really really hope I don't find I need it!

Perhaps more so but you'll still struggle to find as much objectivity as you might hope.

I remember reading somewhere (might have been here) about a place that had Fox News and CNN on adjacent screens, leading an observer to wonder if they were describing the same events. If you look at UK media, try reading the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror, and wonder again if they are describing the same world.

My pipe wrench made short work of the nuts I needed to remove. Now I just need to figure out how to shift a honking great cast iron radiator out of the way. I had thought I could lift the smaller ones unaided but it's becoming clear that's not going to happen.

I'm fixing to walk the dog, now that the shadows are lengthening, I reckon it's the best time of day to go out for a stroll. I just got back from eating home made custard from Messick's. A nice drive out in the country. The fields are now all green and the horses and cattle have gotten fairly fat in the winter months.

Allergies have set in. I had to open windows though because it's 53 degrees F outside and the air conditioner shouldn't be on in those low temps. So I'm going to be sneezing all morning. The cottonwood was flying yesterday.

Hoping to make some more progress with my plumbing today. It's hard to know just what to do at times, trying to figure out which nuts are supposed to come off. The way some of them aren't supposed to move at all just complicates things. One of the nuts I need to move won't move out of the way because the radiator was painted, and there's a dried drip of paint in the way. So I need to get a file or something in there, on the underside of a narrow pipe section to shift something I can't see.

I also need to figure out who is best placed to help shift these radiators once they are disconnected. The weight of them is such that I only want to move them once....

Hit it with a hammer? It might loosen the paint enough to turn the nuts?

Having family that you like, love, and/or respect is a wonderful gift, friend ImaginaryDay2. May God bless you with good family members and loving relationships.

The ones that are supposed to turn will turn with my nice big pipe wrench. The trouble is knowing how much force to apply to things that I think are supposed to turn but can't be 100% sure.

If I break a fitting on a radiator that's probably at least 50 years old it could be tricky finding a replacement.
