I sometimes sing secular songs to God, do you? Some songs are very inspirational even though secular artists perform them. Now I will ask you to post some secular songs that you think could be songs of praise or personal testimonies or inspirational to you, and give us a note explaining how they minister to you. I will start with a song my son sang in a talent contest when he was 10 years old(before voice change lol) and won second place.

​​Cool thread. This may take some thinking. Many songs have inspired diff people at diff times for diff reasons, and I almost feel bad using the term 'secular' with some of them, but I get your point.

Some music from my past is stuff I probably shouldnt listen to anymore because of where it can take me, in my head or emotions, and even though it was inspiring at one point, it was more man-centered than God-centered.

On the other hand, there's alot of what gets labeled as 'christian' out there, that I wouldn't consider for much, but I'll refrain from criticisms here. Personal tastes, let's say, lol.

But I guess without either label, christian OR secular, there's alot of music, of all genre's and styles and ages, that could apply on this thread.

Guess I've gotten a million of them from God, (second chances, as the song says) but not really too many from ppl, outside family types, to a degree. But none by choice on a deep heart level that lasts. There always seems to be that stipulation, or that thing that was supposed to be buried, just waiting to be thrown back up .....

Just always lurking, hanging in the shadows waiting to jump out Ah-ha, gotcha with unforgiveness and punishment all over again. In Christ, it says, there is no more condemnation, but with people, that seems to be a different story. It can make one not want to confess, if it's just gonna come back to haunt you or be used against you somehow.

And I wind up making stupid mistakes as a result of that fear, just looking for SOME kind of solace, and I usually wind up missing where it coulda, shoulda came from, because I just know it's a setup or it's not real or it won't last.

A good song, not really my style of music. I can see why the ladies would like it, the way it speaks to the heart. I didnt get the inspiration I'm sure it was intended for. Still kinda sad listening, but that's just me these days, I suppose. Always seem to be just missing it. Definitely in a battle. Thx for posting the music.
