Why you sigh? You can enjoy the love of another better if you do not put messianic love expectations upon them brother. But as beautiful as the songs may be, the reality of it is nobody will be able to meet your love expectations except Jesus. Once we all realize that, then we are able to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
Messianic love expectations ?? Is that what you accuse me of? I'm not sure why you would think that, I have a Saviour, you know that. I just hold out hope against hope that I wouldn't spend my entire life alone ..... Just to have someone to love and who loves me back with the same passion and care. I don't know, I didn't think that was too much to ask, really, since love is the ultimate...
You know we're friends here, I really HOPE you know that, so I will take it that I just misunderstood you, (I tend to do that) and not that you were trying to be mean.
But it seems good enough for everybody else, idk, I guess maybe I'm not deserving of it. And there's a lot of single, lonely ppl out there, there's a whole big portion of the music industry based on it. Even God Himself said it's not good to be alone, though that was before the fall, so maybe that's changed.
It might be easier for a married person to say that God is all anybody ever did or ever will need, but unless a person is gifted with singleness, it still can get pretty lonely, and, even though Jesus is our all in all, and you cant take anything with you, including your partner, I guess, it still seems like it would be nice to have that signifigant one in this life to cherish, like they say, to have and to hold.
Not as a substitute messiah, but as an enhancement and encourager in this life, to share in God's blessings and even minister to others together and pray and worship the Lord together. And all the other things that a happy couple may do. So that's what spurred my earlier comment about the lyrics to that one song. I didn't mean it to seem like I was saying Jesus isn't great or anything, and I'm sorry if I gave that impression. :smow:
