I think of the passage that teaches against judging others is about being careful about what standards we apply to others because God will apply them to us.
If you forgive others for the wrongs they do to you, your Father in heaven will forgive you. But if you don't forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:14-15 CEV)

Don't condemn others, and God won't condemn you. God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them. You can see the speck in your friend's eye, but you don't notice the log in your own eye. How can you say, "My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye," when you don't see the log in your own eye? You're nothing but show-offs! First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend's eye. (Matthew 7:1-5 CEV)

That's it exactly - the whole idea is that once we take the log out of our own eye we can see to take the speck out of someone else's eye. So many of the "don't judge" brigade overlook that bit.

We should never condemn people over looks. As God sees others the way the world does not see! As God sees the inside. The world sees the outside.

If we listen to the spirit we will know if a situation is dangerous or not.

Yes, care about how we set standards for others for fear that our harshness towards them might be the measure God will apply to us. It's a case of "he who is without sin casting the first stone" and not many of us are able to cast a stone without feelings of deepest guilt about our own wickedness.

Okay, yeah, so it's all nice and lovely to think that we are all non-judging and want to consider everyone in the same light until proven otherwise, but let's be real...are we truly like that? I think we all have our moments where we do look at people and are concerned.

I certainly do. But I still know I shouldn't.

Are there people you tend to avoid because of the way they look? What I mean is, do you purposely go out of your way to avoid them when out and about? Cross the street or swerve out a bit to avoid them?

Examples: people who look like gang members, people with a lot of tattoos, people with a ton of piercings, people who hold religious signs saying The End is Near?

Sure, but not usually on just their looks - clothing choices, skin to ink ratio, or piercings etc. Although I wouldn't just walk into a gang area if I knew it to be such and could identify members by such things.

Some time ago I was approached in a pub by some dude who was pretending to be gay and hitting on me. I rebuked him gently twice, but it became apparent to me he was doing this to provoke me, to give him and his friends an excuse to pound me. I decided it wasn't worth my pride and left. Turns out later that night the same guy and his friends were doing it to other guys.
