Earlier in this thread I commented to you a passage in Colossians 2:16-19 where it says that the observance of a particular day such as the Sabbath is a part of the law and that it is only a shadow of what was to come which is Christ. Yet, you didn't comment about it, but are dogmatically suggesting your churches view is correct. Please make a comment regarding the passage I quoted you

oh,

And what part of the armor of righteousness are you witholding while walking with charity?

Ignore The beauty of instruction in Torah for as long as it takes.
Doing so will reveal the darkened stone upon the shoulder of the heart that reveals injustice.

Once you find such a darkened stone on a Shabbat.
Ask The Lord of Shabbat Yeshua if any amount of color is available..

Look at what its talking about:
A high sabbath or ceremonial sabbath is one of the seven festivals do not necessarily occur on weekly Shabbat (seventh-day Sabbath) and are called by the name miqra ("called assembly") in Hebrew (Lev. 23). They are observed by Jews and a minority of Christians. Two of the shabbath (holy assemblies) occur in spring on the first and last day of the Feast of unleavened bread (Matstsah). One occurs in the summer, this is the Feast of Weeks (Shavuot). And four occur in the fall in the seventh month. Yom Teru'ah (Feast of Trumpets) on the first day of the seventh month; the second is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement); and two during the feast of Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles) on the first and last day. Sometimes the word shabbaton is extended to mean all seven festivals.

Notice what it says...
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Its clear Paul is talking about the ceremonial law including the ceremonial sabbaths which some of the Jews tried to impose on the new Christians. Now look at what says in Hebrews:

Hebrew 8:1-5
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.

Hebrew 9:8-12
The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Its clear, the law spoken of there is the ceremonial law, the yearly calendar connected with the symbolic sacrificial system of animal sacrifices, and offerings of food and drink at the Temple.

Did you not even read what you wrote? It also says "holyday". The point of that passage is that it is no longer important about observing a particular day of the week in terms of the Sabbath or a special day. It doesn't make you better or more holy or special to observe Saturday than Sunday. It actually just makes a person prideful that they think they are better than others. The truth is, we are to worship the Lord everyday and pray without ceasing.
Your suggesting that Sabbath doesn't mean Sabbath doesn't make much sense to me either. The point is that we are no longer bound by the law with its rules and regulations. Take a step back and look at the practical application of the passage.

Perhaps it is because you hate The Royal Torah and the Yom Yeshua appeared during the mishkan feast.

If new moons, shabbats, and feast were of no importance?
Why then did ole sh'aul even mention such Holiness in his letters to those who knew nothing of Salvation being of yhdh.

Again, I was just quoting what Paul said in Colossians 2:16-19.

For all those that have sought and found rest in Yeshua The Holy Lord of Shabbat.

Blessings be in thine single and whole heart.

Shin being both a 3 pronged illustration of those who bear witness in meekness on earth. And with a 4 pronged shin in sons and daughters who have found a well replenishing the earth in good soil.

Blessings Always

I include rest into EVERY DAY (not limited to 8 hours when I sleep - EVERY DAY)

I worship God EVERY DAY.

Jesus is my Sabboath... and He is EVERY DAY.

I know of no verse that mandates we can only rest on a certain day ...and can only worship God on a certain day. It may be that in the days of the OLD COVENANT, people were to especially do this on Saturday, I don't know, but this is the New Covenent and we are not limited to resting or worshipping or studying or serving or loving on just one day (I kind of doubt it ever was the case, however, since the Passover and all the other feasts in the OT did not always fall on Saturday and it seems people slept every day and not just on one day)

I have nothing against people typically participating in PUBLIC worship on Saturday....

SOME do because they think the greatest thing God ever did was Creation, but I think we can top that, it was Easter (which happened on a Sunday). But nevermind....

In my former Catholic parish, we had Saturday Mass. It was at 5:00 in the school chapel. It was informal (boys could wear shorts!) and a bit shorter than the Sunday services; but the best part is dinner was included. Yup.... for a donation, the Knights prepared spaghetti or hot dogs or sloppy joes or fish & chips - something like that, with salad and drinks and stuff. Usually pretty good and all-you-can-eat. Maybe 50 or so came to that, often those with kids. We rarely went to it but sometimes when we had something on Sunday. I liked the Sunday Mass better myself (even though I had to wear a suit). Hey.... wanna worship on Saturday? No skin off my nose.... I ain't going to tell you you are going to ______.

Jesus is not a "day" nor is He ever symbolically/metaphorically linked to being a "day" in the Bible; He's linked to being "the vine", "the lamb", "the door", "the rock" and many other things but never, not once, a "day". We must stick to the Bible and the Bible only. To "rest in Jesus" actually has three meanings. One, to rest on the Sabbath day (Heb 4:4&9) or two, to be one of the righteous dead (1 Thess. 4:14) for you are literally resting in Jesus' love and protection.

Or as we see in Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Jesus can absolutely give us spiritual rest, but we cannot "cease from all work" seven days a week. To do so is not holy, only on the Sabbath which is from the Creator. The Sabbath was "made" for man, not just the Jews.

Mark 2:27
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

You miss the point of WHY we need a Sabbath...a rest. And Jesus most definitely is our rest.

How, if we work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No, the Creator knew our needs and in His wisdom and love gave us a day of rest. God made for man, the following in the seven days of creation, as the earth had no life, and was without form and basically empty.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters" (Genesis 1:1-2).

So God made the following for man.
Day 1: Light
“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:3-5).

Day 2: Atmosphere / Firmament
“Then God said, ‘Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.’ Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day” (Genesis 1:6-8).

Day 3: Dry ground & plants
“Then God said, ‘Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear’; and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good” (Genesis 1:9-10)....
“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth’; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day” (Genesis 1:11-13).

Day 4: Sun, moon & stars
“Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth’; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day” (Genesis 1:14-19).

Day 5: Birds & sea animals
“‘Then God said, ‘Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.’ So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.’ So the evening and the morning were the fifth day” (Genesis 1:20-23).

Day 6: Land animals & human

“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind’; and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”..“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’”...“And God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food’; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day” (Genesis 1:24-31).

Day 7: The Sabbath of rest
“Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made” (Genesis 2:1-3).

Now if you look, you see that the seventh day of creation refers to the same day found in the fourth commandment.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”(Exodus 20:8-11).

The Creator confirms who the Sabbath was made for.

"And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:"(Mark 2:27)

So the Creator who is Christ Himself, made the Sabbath for us.

So if I pick up sticks on saturday I should be killed? You miss the understanding that the sabbath became law and we are no longer under the law

So if I pick up sticks on saturday I should be killed? You miss the understanding that the sabbath became law and we are no longer under the law

Referencing a charity of Fire without knowledge in spirit of understanding toward The Holy Torah is a futility of fate met by korach.

Why collect 6 fingers like sticks during Shabbat when a stone altar has already been lit with water and fire.?

Careful

Well I like to pick up sticks before I mow two acres of land and seeing that I'm at work all week it usually takes up my weekend to straighten up the yard.. SDA I bet do a little work on saturday and I really do admire them if they do actually stay home on saturdays and do no work, but like I said we aren't Jewish and we aren't under those laws anymore anyway, Jesus IS our rest

I agree that Yeshua is our rest.
"On earth as it is in Heaven"

Means to me that in humbleness and love I will give the land rest also.
From what I've Heard tell from the Ruach hakodosh(holy spirit)
"Those that destroy the earth will be destroyed"

Reminds me of inciting rebellion with rhetoric against The Lords Holy commands.

While The Shabbat Yom is freely given and spoken of as the 7th Yom.
What then of the first Yom(day).

Perhaps a fold in time is hidden till revealed by The Ruach hakodosh of Living water.

Blessings be The Holy One
Ask any one who is Jewish and the Sabbath is not hidden..

I'm not a Jew. What Jews believe is largely irrelevant to me in terms of my faith (as is the faith of a Muslim or Shinto or Atheist).

So are we free to steal, commit adultery, and murder each other and sin to the utmost. Hmm...
