Hi Bill, Tango and Tigger. :) The furnace dries my nose up and my lip. Seems like it's going to be a half way nice day today.

Hi Ruth, try using an ultrasonic humidifier. You can get them pretty cheaply, I think we had one for $15 from Aldi.

Thanks Tango. I'll have to take a look at Aldi and Amazon. I put vaseline up my nose but it doesn't really help.

If your dehydration is only temporary you may be able to find an easier solution. Sometimes if I get a dry nose on the plane I'll spit on my pinky finger and use it to moisten the inside of my nose (it's good to wash your hands afterwards, and be a little discreet about it!). That's often helped me through particularly stuffy flights.

A humidifier will definitely ease the dryness. Amazon has some for $19.99 that you can keep in your bedroom at night.

I've done that remedy, too, it helps a little. The doctor told me to spray saline up my nose then put vaseline over it. It only helps temporarily unfortunately.

Thanks for the idea. I'm a little frustrated with Amazon. They are taking a month to ship things to me just because I don't have Prime.

Look at Aldi. The one we had was fairly small but only $15. We took it back because we found we had one much bigger already (long story), but if it's big enough for your needs it's worth a try.

I live in a large apartment and have a large air conditioner so I'd probably need a large humidifier. I cannot even afford 15. at this time anyways. I'm doing what the doctor told me to do. Thanks anyways! :)

Does boiling water on the stove help?

I love using saline nasal spray in the winter at times! I live in a humid area now so I don't need it as much.

I can't do that with the kitchen door open because one of my birds could fly in it. If the kitchen door is closed it would not benefit me in the other rooms. I use the saline solution, too.

I have lots of scabs up my nose and my nose bleeds all the time. The doctor said they could cauterize it but I'm afraid to have that done.

Could you put a colander in a pan of water and warm it gently? That way you could release some water vapor but without leaving an open pot of boiling water.

Thanks Tango. I have a plastic colllander and to produce vapor would mean the heat of the burner has to go up. I can't risk that with my birdies.

Hello Bill. How has your day been? I was going to go out but don't feel like it now.

Do you only get groceries once a month? I used to do that but I can't lug all those bags any more. I'm going twice a week now so I can carry lighter bags.
