Cats are nice pets, too. I was lucky enough to move into a place that allows pets 3 years ago.

I used to keep a couple of fish when I rented. The rental contract specified no pets but before I moved in I asked if I could have fish and the landlord was OK with that. They just wanted to be sure they weren't going to be dealing with animals that roamed, scratched the walls and maybe left unpleasant items on the carpet.

You can always use carpet cleaner for the things animals leave on the carpet by accident every once in awhile.

Not all renters are careful in keeping their pets out of trouble though and sometimes the unit gets damaged but the renter doesn't want to pay for it.

Well, lots of landlords are requiring renters to have insurance now. I have to have it. My dog has done some damage to the carpet and I have paid a deposit that will cover it.

I am involved with two churchs at the moment. I am on the board at one and on missions and outreach at the other and probably head of the finance committee after next week
