...God calls it sanctification. ...

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication

It is possible to fully repent be baptised for the remission of sin and sin no more, living perfect Holy lives now too, dont forget that.
LOL, such a man-centered statement. Your Pelagian thinking is in its full glory.
No you can't. Every living human is a wretched human. Only by the substitutional work of Christ are you made righteous before God.

With the Holy Spirit indwelling your person you must always repent then and there at the moment of sin and pray to God, when I slip up the spirit knows and you will feel it kicking inside you lol as long as you catch it and let the spirit work in you you should always stay in good cheer. I bounce off the walls at work because I can barely contain the joy
You have just extinguished grace and made salvation by your works the means to your life with God.
The Bible tells you that you fall utterly and woefully short. You cannot ever conjure up the necessary holiness or faith in order to hit the mark. You might as well be a Buddhist or a Muslim because your teaching is no different than theirs.

Original sin is a sin of "origin" rather than an actual sin that you, as an individual, have committed.
Thanks for answering my question. You reject original sin and opt for the origin of sin, which is the position held by those who deny the grace of God and depend on their own works to save them. It is the belief of liberals who ultimately worship themselves while asking God to be an advisor to their own throne.

Indeed. God's purpose in our lives is to sanctify us. His will is that we should abstain from sexual immorality.
It's all God, MC. You and I are the wretches in the process.

You are wretched and miserable.
Repent of your filthy ways and be baptised in the name of Jesus for the remission of sin. When you receive the Holy Ghost and you wilfully sin.you are crucifying Christ afresh! SIN NO MORE and become HOLY for you are called as SAINTS to become SONS of GOD. I am NOTHING like you, I am at peace and full of JOY all the days of my life in Jesus name. You do not have the GHOST because you feel wretched and miserable, you throw a pitty party, that is not the way of the Lord. You are the most hateful Christian here and you twist everyones words around to push your wicked opinions. Shame on you for calling Peter a liar! You are the heretic and you know Christ NOT! You hate you brothers this is well known because you insist accusing the brethren, mocking them and weakening their spirits letting in evil spirits of doubt and negativity. You are hypocrite I would rather you be Atheist because you are slandering Gods children on an hourly basis, if you say you have the Holy Spirit and believe you cant be Holy because you are a sinner you are crucifying Jesus, you are a murderer who hates your brothers. You are to be like Jesus and follow his example but you are like the devil accusers of the brethren. May God have mercy on you wretched miserable WEAK and unholy soul, if you arent holy then keep sinning because what the unholy do, they dont repent they ask another man to excuse them why not just pile up the sin as you are already putting Christ to shame and do not care. You pitiful Godless destroyer of joy.
I am not judging you, you have put judgment on yourself, you have no goodness in you and are annoyingly unfruitful. We all have to play nice but the truth is you wreck everyones reputation and their messages by rude outburts.

LOL, yes I am wretched. I agree with scripture and with John Newton...
"Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I am found. Was blind but now I see."
God has chosen to reach down to this wretch and adopt me despite no merit on my part. While I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. While I was wrecked with sin, God chose to adopt me. Me, a wicked and vile man who dares not step into the throne room, let alone address the King. Me, a rebel and wicked abuser of God's laws, was chosen by the King and robed in His righteousness simply because he chose to be gracious rather than justly damn me to hell. I can scarce comprehend such mercy and grace, freely given to me when I merit nothing but contempt and hatred for my law breaking ways. What wondress love is this that God would die for me, a sinner? And can it be that I should gain an interest in my Saviors blood. Died he for me who caused such pain...
DHoffmann, if only you could see how grateful I am to the God of Creation for saving a wretch like me when I merit nothing of his favor. I could cry out about how sorry I was for my wicked rebellion, but the judge would still be just in condemning me for my wicked acts. He need not pardon no matter how much I plead. My guilt is laid bare and I deserve every bit of God's wrath.
But...but God made me alive in Christ Jesus and seated me at his throne. For it is by grace I have been saved. Not of myself. It is the gift of a merciful God who now and forevermore gives me the gift of faith to believe that he has pardoned me and made me his child.
Your petty tirade is silly for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I have no need to flail on the ground and wail in agony. No need to beat out my own wickedness. Jesus has paid the price for my wretchedness. I am freed from all guilt and condemnation. I am at complete peace with God and it is deliciously wonderful. I wish you could know such grace and peace instead of working for that which you can never earn.
My prayers are for God to save you by his grace alone.

I am inclined to think that Jesus kept the Law and he did that for our benefit but I hesitate at the thought that Jesus keeps the law for us if that phrase is intended to mean that we need not keep any law because Jesus is doing the keeping in our place without regard to how we live.
Keeping the commandment by him fulfilling them perfectly and taking them with him on the death of the cross. Now he gives us the ghost that empowers you to keep these commandments and not break them, its simple, one could identify with how easy it was for him to keep them when they have the HOLY SPIRIT, and Love comes also with the rebirth the baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost, it becomes natural in you through his death and resurrection to find joy and rejoice in the commandments through grace. Its like Christmas everyday when you get the Holy Ghost baptism, sin will disgust you, cigarettes and beer taste gross and foreign , you dont cuss, you cant steal, you dont sleep around with loose women, your face glows and the joy others see in you changes them and with your testimony may save them in return, the seed starts growing. Im not making this up, this what has been happening for me by God because I gave up the old mam and put on a new man with the armor of God. This is the rebirth experience it is real. Do not just say because you are christian that you are reborn, you must be reborn in the Holy Spirit and it will change you inside and out.
Keep faith and believe and pray for the rebirth. As peter said "repent and be baptised everyone of you in Jesus name for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" this was done for me at a pentecostal, i was asked if I had repented all my sins which I had, then they fully baptised me in Jesus Name and got the Holy Spirit. The spirit heals you and keeps you from sin with joy and no withdraws and no anxiety no condemnation. Our God is Allmighty he is awesome!!!!

I am saved by his grace, before that I was unholy but then through grace and to the baptism of the Holy Ghost I am repented of sin and am no longer wretched as you described me. I am thankful the Lord has taken away my want for filthy sin, now I get offended when i see people in sin, if I do slip up I literally pray to god for the sin i have committed right there on the spot because the Spirit will start to cease in you and you fall into condemnation, snap out of that and just repent your sin in Jesus name. Try never to do it again. We could all live Holy Lives, menno I cant believe you called my Holy Grandmother wretched... You go be wretched all you want by yourself. I have testimony, whats your story of receiving the Holy Ghost? The holy ghost doesnt just slide in slow through the day, it hits you like a bomb, its allmighty God pouring out the spirit in you and you feel a change. So when did this happen to you?

You do no show your Holiness by any means through your comments. I have peace and joy and I rejoice everyday and praise God and exalt Jesus on the throne and I lift up my hands and just thank him so much for all the blessings he has given me, I love my God with all my heart and I pray to you dear menno, to see the fowl you cause when you disgrace and strike brethren of CH, this all reflects who you are inside, and I see ugly, dark and dry humor, bitter and self righteous

DHoffmann, in our self we are still as wretched as we were before God chose to save us. Never forget that.
It is only in Christ that we are made righteous. It is by Christ substitutional atonement that we stand before the throne uncondemned.
When we entertain any thoughts of having made ourselves better by our pious lives, we entertain a lie from hell. Muslims and Buddhists entertain those same thoughts and frankly, they often do a better job of chaining their passions. But no one can make themselves holy or more holy by their actions. Our actions are vile and wretched apart from Christ. It is all about Christ. It is Christ who set you free and nothing of yourself. Harbor no thoughts of great piety. We have none. Harbor no thoughts of how your actions please God. They do not. With God the Son, God the Father is well pleased. With you and me, God takes no pleasure. Let it sink in that it is by grace and grace alone that you stand before the throne of God. Let go of all other ideas. Accept that God's grace is everything and you (and I) are nothing. When we get to that point, we begin the life of grace.

But you are not completely clean, like Peter your feet still need a washing.

Feet washed, yes. Jesus said to Peter he was clean by the Word He had spoken to em.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Your spirit is instantly holy if you get saved. Your soul gets holy and what you do and your mind isnt instantly renewed, it has to be renewed by the Word. Thats why you have to confess that you're made holy, until you believe it and see it. My ex would always joke - WOF joke - that I loved to vacuum clean. He said: I'm speaking the non existant into existance.

Nope. That is grace and abiding in Him. Gods grace leads to repentance. John and Paul and James weren't muslims. Paul made his body submit, put to death the parts on the earth by the Spirit, Romans 8, 1 John 1:9.

That is a good thought. Perhaps the man who turned up to the feast without a wedding garment had that problem - turning up without baptism.

No the robber didnt get baptized. Fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints and we're clothed w Christ.

Why do ppl keep saying they are wretched? Paul said that in Romans 7 and then praise God Jesus delivers him and he can live in the Spirit in Romans 8 and put to death the deeds of the body.
Thats Dutch reformed calvinism. Oh I am so bad. I can do nothing good. Talk about me, me, me.

Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners by John Bunyan. (conclusion)

1.* Of all the temptations that ever I met with in my life, to question the being of God, and truth of His gospel is the worst, and the worst to be borne; when this temptation comes, it takes away my girdle from me, and removeth the foundation from under me: Oh! I have often thought of that word, Have your loins girt about with truth; and of that, When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

2.* Sometimes, when after sin committed, I have looked for sore chastisement from the hand of God, the very next that I have had from Him, hath been the discovery of His grace.* Sometimes when I have been comforted, I have called myself a fool for my so sinking under trouble.* And then again, when I have been cast down, I thought I was not wise, to give such way to comfort; with such strength and weight have both these been upon me.

3.* I have wondered much at this one thing, that though God doth visit my soul with never so blessed a discovery of Himself, yet I have found again, that such hours have attended me afterwards, that I have been in my spirit so filled with darkness, that I could not so much as once conceive what that God and that comfort was, with which I have been refreshed.

4.* I have sometimes seen more in a line of the Bible, than I could well tell how to stand under; and yet at another time, the whole Bible hath been to me as dry as a stick; or rather, My heart hath been so dead and dry unto it, that I could not conceive the refreshment, though I have looked it all over.

5.* Of all fears, they are best that are made by the blood of Christ; and of all joy, that is the sweetest that is mixed with mourning over Christ: Oh! it is a goodly thing to be on our knees, with Christ in our arms, before God: I hope I know something of these things.

6.* I find to this day seven abominations in my heart: 1. Inclining to unbelief; 2. Suddenly to forget the love and mercy that Christ manifesteth; 3. A leaning to the works of the law; 4. Wanderings and coldness in prayer; 5. To forget to watch for that I pray for; 6. Apt to murmur because I have no more, and yet ready to abuse what I have; 7. I can do none of those things which God commands me, but my corruptions will thrust in themselves.* When I would do good, evil is present with me.

7.* These things I continually see and feel, and am afflicted and oppressed with, yet the wisdom of God doth order them for my good; 1. They make me abhor myself; 2. They keep me from trusting my heart; 3. They convince me of the insufficiency of all inherent righteousness; 4. They show me the necessity of flying to Jesus; 5. They press me to pray unto God; 6. They show me the need I have to watch and be sober; 7. And provoke me to pray unto God, through Christ, to help me, and carry me through this world.
