Rejecting His offer? Those who reject FORGIVENESS won at the cross do not receive it. Those who reject the Savior do not receive forgiveness.

Colossians 2:13-14 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

The Gospel remains true as in the scripture aboe. Those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit by rejecting the Savior and forgiveness do not receive it.

Yes, so that sin He didn't carry, that's impossible, otherwise anyone would be saved without having to accept His offer, I guess blaspheming the Spirit is the same sin. He forgave all their sins, set them free, yet then they go back into it which is willingly rejecting His offer.
And what these pharisees did was also willingly rejecting Him.

Was the Lord Jesus Christ's blood shed for those who do not accept the gospel?

Then why didn't his precious blood wash them clean of sins?

They didn't accept the offer. He didn't die for the sin of keeping on rejecting Him. Then everybody would be automatically saved.

Rejection of the Savior means nothing is given to that man when he dies except what he justly deserves, eternal punishment.

Faith.
Salvation is by grace through faith. Faith grasps onto the atonement...the Savior...the forgiveness.
Those who reject do not receive it.

Post #307 on Page 31:
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit denies the Holy Spirit but also Savior and denies the forgiveness won at the cross. Rejection is what damns man.
Post #368 on Page 37:

==============================================================================================

Questions:

1. What about people who never have a chance to benefit from the sacraments?
2. What about people who never hear the Gospel, or don’t hear it sufficiently well expressed to be able to knowledgeably reject it?
3. Does “God gives us the gift of faith to believe and have eternal life and He does so by His Word and sacraments." mean that salvation depends largely on accident of birthplace?

Responses to Pedrito's Questions:

1. What about people who never have a chance to benefit from the sacraments?
What about them? We are ALL saved the same way, by grace through faith. God is the one who gives faith so that we may believe. It's 100% God's doing in salvation. The sacraments are not separated from the forgiveness won at the cross.

2. What about people who never hear the Gospel, or don’t hear it sufficiently well expressed to be able to knowledgeably reject it?
Is God not a just God?

3. Does “God gives us the gift of faith to believe and have eternal life and He does so by His Word and sacraments." mean that salvation depends largely on accident of birthplace?
Salvation is God's doing and damnation is man's doing. Do you think that those who don't receive the forgiveness won at the cross are innocent and don't deserve hell? Is God just or not? To answer your question of location, no it does not depend on it. God can reach out to whomever He will reach out with His word to bring faith.

EXCELLENT reply, Lamm.

I don't think any have been able to name any specific sin for which Christ did not offer atonement..... Sure, ALL sins remain where there is no repentance and faith, but that doesn't mean Christ did not die for that sin.

A blessed Advent to all

Did the Lord die for unforgiven sins? Sins that are not washed away in his precious blood?

Yes.

It's Sola Gratia - Solus Christus - Sola Fide. It's one, single, united, unseperable truth. It's NOT Sola Gratia - Solus Christus, cujuscumque fide.

Again, you are assuming something silly, absurd ... you are assuming that if something is not received, it doesn't exist and/or was never offered. You demand we assume this silly, crazy idea - with NOTHING to remotely show it's true. Just yesterday, I went to the grocery store. The elderly lady behind me had only two items so I invited her to go ahead of me, but she didn't accept that indicating she was in no hurry. Now, you demand we assume that THEREFORE I never made the offer and couldn't make the offer - it's just silly, even though you keep promoting that idea. Last night, I had a small glass of wine and offered the same to my beautiful wife. She thanked me but said no. Now, you demand that I never had any wine and never offered her any. It's just silly. We don't have something if we don't receive it (even if it IS offered) - I don't know what part of that escapes you, my friend.

Would that make the idea become ineffectual atonement and unlimited atonement, Josiah?

Yes, I accept unlimited atonement. Limited atonement is an idea of a few uber-Reformed folks developed after Calvin... it's rejected by the vast majority of Christians. Again, it's SOLA GRATIA - SOLUS CHRISTUS - SOLA FIDE as one, united, singular teaching. It's NOT your concept of Sola Gratia - Solus Christus, cujuscumque fide nor your assumption that if something is not received, it MUST NOT have existed or been offered. And we note: you have yet revealed ANY sin to which the blood of Jesus was insufficient, not even one sin that you can show Christ's death was unable to atone for, only that some don't repent, don't have faith - and thus don't receive forgiveness (a whole, entire, completely different enchilada, as we all clearly know).

Josiah, every unforgiven sin is not washed in the blood of the lamb, right?

The issue is whether Christ died for sins, not if guilt remains where there is no repentance/faith. True - if I give you a Porsche 911 but you won't receive it, you don't have a Porsche 911. That's a whole different enchilada than whether I had it (earned) and offered it to you.

I take it that your circuitous reply meant "that is right, every unforgiven sin is not a sin washed in the blood of the lamb", Josiah.

Of course, that's not at all the issue before us. You are simply TRYING to circumvent the issue ... and insert your assumption that a gift not accepted thus never existed and wasn't offered.

AGAIN, if I offer you a Porsche 911 and you won't take it - you thus don't have it, but that's UNRELATED to whether the Porsche exists and it was offered to you. The issue is NOT whether forgiveness was not accepted, it's whether Christ did not die for that sin.

AGAIN, Protestants accept Sola Gratia - Solus Christus - Soli Fide as one, singular, united, view. We reject any concept of Sola Gratia - Solus Christus, cujuscumque fide. Sins are NOT unforgiven because the blood of Jesus was insufficient but because there is no faith/repentance.... they don't have the gift NOT because Jesus' couldn't or didn't offer it but because they didn't accept it.
