My Aunt is certain the rapture is this weekend

It just goes to show you these predictions are all about human convenience and not about what the Lord wants. When this one fails and it will likely fail, she will just find another one and continue waiting never allowing the conclusion that no one knows anything to possibly be the truth.

The Lord doesn't need to act during any of our lifetimes such as how the generation of Israeli people who came directly out of Egypt never made it to the promised land as it was the generation that followed that got there and not even Moses himself was allowed entrance in either. Perhaps spending more time in the Bible and less time with random people on Youtube spouting silly stories out of their own imagination will do her a lot of good.

Funny, I had a friend that thought Sept. 11, 2001 was actually the day. She was falling all over herself with excitement as New York was burning

I woke up Monday morning and knew immediately that I had not slept through the rapture because my wife was there beside me and she is an angel.

On a more serious note:
I believe it to be both intellectually and spiritually unhealthy to spend your time in end times speculations. It is far better to live your life in such a way as to make this world a better place not just for the present but into the distant future.

Hard to argue with this... even if we could work out when The End will be in an eschatological sense there's no guarantee that The End won't come in a personal sense in the meantime. Even if I knew for a fact the rapture would happen at 4pm today I can't say with 100% certainty I won't get run over by a truck at 3pm.

Seeing as how October 3rd came and went, I wonder what sort of mental gymnastics were employed by her this time to excuse away the clearly incorrect and false date of October 3rd? I would like to think she would figure it out that they know nothing but unfortunately that usually isn't the case with these date setters.
