'Cuz Rens is one smart cookie (and doesn't need me.... but that won't keep me from saying something 'cuz it's just what I do).

Solomon's wisdom was not in dividing siamese twins but in suggesting that the one child be killed and half given to each. His wisdom saw the true being divided by the false.

Nah. Solomon's wisdom in the story about the baby was in asking the question that discovered which of the women loved the baby.

In the play King Lear was it mercy or was it foolishness or maybe both for the father who was king to divide his kingdom between his heirs while he was still living?

Is the father in the parable like King Lear? Was he foolish or merciful or both when he gave the inheritance to his youngest son while he (the father) was still living?

I think it was an act of concession on the part of the father but that's just stipulation.
