How many paintings should an artist create during his/her lifetime for you to consider that (s)he left behind a large body of work?

What would constitute a small body of work?

Share your thoughts.

That's an interesting question. I guess I never really studied the amount of work any artist has done (as in quantity). I suppose, the more an artist does, the more well known he becomes because you rarely hear about one hit wonders in the art world besides music, right? :D

I'm trying to think of more current artists and the ones I think are becoming famous paint just about every day. It's their breath of life. I'm not one of them LOL I have to be really motivated to do art these days, unlike when I was younger and drew all the time.
