What you need to read is the gospel according to saint Luke. But I am sure you've probably done that before too and somehow missed the passages that exalt Blessed Mary.

Which ones say to pray to her so she can intercede for me? I cannot find those.

Is this the bait and switch part of the "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"? Now that you probably remember that there are passages in holy scripture that exalt Blessed Mary and teach the faithful to exalt her?

I gladly call Mary Blessed. It is right and just so to do.

I'm waiting for you to provide those verses.

Watch the video; I included it to save time and typing. If you decide not to watch then don't complain that you didn't see the verses they are right there.

I watched it. And he offers NOTHING to support that "PROTESTANTS" are specifically to blame for Marian "abuse."

He never even addresses anyone "abusing" Mariology - much less that PROTESTANT are responsible for this.

What he does is show how BASELESS, entirely BASELESS is a common Catholic image: he references us to Rev. 12 and then proves Mary is never mentioned and Queen is never mention.... he appoints himself to ask a LOT of weird questions - NONE of which is biblical (or reason reasonable), then appoints himself to answer the weird question he himself asks - and bases the Catholic view on THAT, after proving it has NOTHING to do with Scripture. He holds a really big bible doesn't refer to it - except to point how how what he is saying is nowhere in the Bible. Things like this remind me of why I left that denomination.

It's easy to give the "right" answers when you set the questions.

I've noticed that some early Church fathers (Paul, Peter, James, etc, never mention Mary. Those are the ones I go to.

He holds open this BIG bible... as if he cared a bit about what it says..... and references one verse and PROVES HIMSELF there is no mention of Mary or Queen - so he immediately ignores the only thing he read in that big Bible. The rest is just one big, long series of WEIRD questions he appoints HIMSELF to ask and then appoints HIMSELF to answer.

THIS is the sort of thing that causes so many to leave the RCC. He seems genuinely nice (most Catholic pastors are), and I'm sure he's sincere, and I don't question his piety.... I only question why he would do a video to PROVE how baseless this all is!

There should not be any insults or attacks on each other. Rather than resulting to throwing insults, there is a way to disagree respectfully and refute another poster's point without berating them.

I had heard this opinion before in that the Protestant Reformation was to blame for the oversteppings of Mariology.
I think that there is a logical paradigm. Since Mariolatry would be almost unique to Catholicism, and since the Reformation was a break from Catholicism, the Reformation would not cause the oversteppings of Mariology.

The veneration of Blessed Mary is common to all of the ancient churches.
