Daniel 11:44 BUT NEWS FROM THE EAST AND THE NORTH SHALL TROUBLE HIM; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many.
Russia is to the "north" of France, Iberia and the Italian peninsula, but is also to the East of the aforementioned.
Who is the Scripture talking about?
Is it Russia on its own?
Or Russia allied with China?
Will China still exist during the future events forecasted?
Like Revelation, much of Daniel's prophecies are about AMERICA, namely the prophecies having to do with the end-times.
In fact, I'm convinced that God chose to use events that have transpired in America over the years, as the signs for Christ's second coming. And those events seem to center around the great falling away of the latter-day European Americans, followed by the exaltation of African Americans.
There are many scriptures in Daniel, and Revelation, and 2nd Thess. 2, etc, which can rightly be applied to America and to those two events in particular.
OTOH, verses 42 through 45 of Daniel 11 appears to be prophecies regarding America's invasion of the Arab countries after 9-11, in an effort to Democratize them.
Notice:
42. "He shall stretch forth his hand (of Democracy) also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape."
43. "But he shall have power (over the monetary system, and over the oil of the Middle East): and the Arabs and Africans shall be at his steps."
And certainly verses 44 and 45 are prophecies which are yet to come to pass, which says,
44. "But news out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and to utterly make away many."
45. "And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious (Christian continent); yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him."
