Lyrics

Our Father everlasting
The all creating One
God Almighty
Through Your Holy Spirit
Conceiving Christ the Son
Jesus our Saviour
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
Our Judge and our Defender
Suffered and crucified
Forgiveness is in You
Descended into darkness
You rose in glorious life
Forever seated high
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
I believe in You
I believe You rose again
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
I believe in You
I believe You rose again
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
I believe in life eternal
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the saints' communion
And in Your holy Church
I believe in the resurrection
When Jesus comes again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the Name of Jesus
For I believe in the Name of Jesus

Apostles' Creed

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

what is your opinion on whether theology is a science?

No, it's not a science.

That said, it seems like whenever science discovers something new, or more completely, someone notices that, that's what the Bible was saying all along.

For example:
Scientists say the universe was created at the big bang. All time, space and matter.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning (Time) God created the heavens (Space) and the earth (Matter).../

So there was a big bang when Jesus said let it happen! They figured that much out. But that's what the Bible has been saying all along. So while the Bible is not a science book, it does confirm a lot of science. And when it does, you would think that they would lean closer to trusting the Bible as truth and fact. But they don't for the most part.
So college is no good at all then. It transforms the students into the image of the world which denies God. I used to bemoan that I didn't get to go to college. At this point, I am glad I didn't go to college!

From what I hear the colleges are churning out illiterate students at an alarming rate.

In a way, there is no such thing as science. There is only, God. What about time, space and matter? (Genesis 1:1) Maybe they want you to think that science is real. How could science point away from God when God created everything?!

I agree, @Edward429451, but there are Christian universities out there that teach the biblical perspective primarily.

Science is science, with its definition. Theology is not science as such. It would have logic if we used logic with it, it is at least philosophy that I am sure has more basis than other philosophies any use in their approach to anything. Some oppose Christian theology still.

Of course the study of God, is science --like the study of anything and everything else is science. That's the study part. The "ology" part.

The scientific method is our way of learning through observation and experience. Through experimentation. It's the testing of theories, by way of observable results. One could describe their own Christian experience in similar turns, where "beliefs" are tested against evidence in much the same way that "scientists" examine theories, the study of which many include unknown and unseen things.

In truth "scientists" who try to explain or explain away physical evidence, have more "faith" in their "beliefs" (theories) than most Christians.

@Edward429451, there are some good Christian colleges that don't bow to the world. I agree with the rest of your post, but I would add that the Bible is our eyeglasses to see the universe and science clearly, not the other way around.

There is science said in the name theology. But the scientific method involves rigorous approach with notations and repeatable experimentation that other scientists can do as well. Theology itself does not have that. Faith must be involved if it is Christian, but that is not something working in sciences, and any conclusions in science might be challenged with results from further experimentation and any more thorough conclusions.

Philosophy consistent with what the Bible really shows is right, and is better instead with any work in science that involves a philosophical approach or certain assumptions apart from conclusions from experimentation.
