Florida. America is known for an amusement park run by Walt Disney Studios.

Those are the choices?

I have travelled abroad and I surely hope that people I met and dealt with thought something, for good or ill, about me, not just that Disney World is in Florida or Americans in general like hamburgers.

Your answer may well be the correct one, but the question asked what AmericANS are known for, not what AmericA is known for. That's why I gave the weird answer I did.

Oh, aye. I've not been abroad, but online the impression that I have is that Americans are known for being the last really unwanted group of tourists in the world. Disney does sort of represent the self- indulgence and the careless spending that people tend to apparently think Americans are famous for. That's one reason why, when I go somewhere to tour, I'll go to Lafayette, Louisiana ( a center of Cajun Country), or Monticello. We do have cultural centers of our own that are worth exploring, after all.

Thanks, Albion. Our economy's in the toilet and at least from where I'm sitting, domestic travel's cheaper than intercontinental travel anyway. Why not celebrate our own heritage as Americans?

Baseball. It's a very USA sport.

USA tourists and USA residents in Australia are - for the most part - liked and appreciated. Many are polite, decent, intelligent, and sensitive when visiting. There are exceptions to this description but that is true of every nation that sends tourists out into the world. The USA is one among a crowd. Neither better nor worse than others.

A widely travelled Swiss gentleman that I met a few years ago had a neat way of describing the difference between Americans and Canadians: “Wherever they travel in the world Americans will make themselves right at home. On the other hand, Canadians always behave as guests.”

In my travels I have found that this might just be the way many people in the world have formed their opinion about Americans.

I thought it was self- evident: https://www.lombardiletter.com/signs-u-s-economic-collapse/20533/

The Trump administration isn't exactly making people eager to scramble to visit the United States: https://www.independent.co.uk/trave...urism-holidays-foreign-visitors-a7666461.html, despite many beautiful sights that definitely deserve a visit: http://traveltips.usatoday.com/10-places-visit-united-states-41879.html.

Americans also work more hours than any other country, sometimes they don't have time to cook full meals so fast food franchises thrive in this American condition.
Btw I worked 12-13 hour days and a homemade sandwich hardly fuels an overworked body, in a 30 minute timeframe its convenient to buy a rushed meal in a rushed time. Storing weight is also a natural survival mechanism and has nothing to do with being lazy.
Now get in my belly!
