Very rarely.

Sometimes we'll have a piece of special music (usually sung by a duet rather than a soloist) but that's maybe once or twice a year, if that.

If my thyroidectomy hadn't harmed my vocal cords, I would do more solos at church. It's a small church and they're all like family, so I don't mind singing in front of them.

Normally only the responsorial psalm that comes between the first two reading at a Sunday Mass.

Never at my church. We all sing acapella together. No one sings solo.

I would love to sing acapella with a group at church!! How long before you got good at it?

Very rarely these days. Even the choir is dramatically reduced. Both because of our new organist.

One of the things I miss from my Catholic childhood is all the wonderful (and very professional) music. We had two cantors who were amazing, an excellent choir, and often musicians from the parish would join them with various instruments. My small Lutheran parish is simply missing those blessings.
