By faith, Yeshua will ultimately decide my fate and I leave that in His hands, for He knows whether or not I can live the righteous and holy life for all eternity with Him and be happy doing it. I think there are a lot of people who will not make it because their favorite, secret, little sin will keep them from being content in heaven.

Through whose eyes are we asking if he was good is it through man's or God's because man has a different version of God compared to what God tells us is good when He covers us in HIS goodness and we believe it by faith.

I meant that the first post and some subsequent posts appear to be touting for a particular doctrinal point of view and they also appear to be attempting to convince others to accept it. It therefore reminds me of the words a salesman might speak when trying to gain a sale with a prospective customer.

No, I started the thread because we don't get to heaven because we're good which is what people say in most instances apart from Christ's covering us in baptism. We get to heaven because we have a Savior.

We should proclaim the good news but we can learn a lot about the way Jesus interacted with people. When the woman who was "a sinner" (presumably a prostitute) washed his feet with her hair he didn't lecture her on how everything she was doing was wrong. But he had some choice words for Simon the Pharisee who was judging the woman even without saying a word (it's in Luke 7).

I agree a gospel message is not so much about what you are doing wrong as it is about redemtion
