Once I went to a restaurant and Anton Geesink was eating there, our most famous judoka. He was really nice and normal, no airs whatsoever and he said hi.
Oh lol and last year I went with the kids to the Ajax soccer stadium and we went to the shop and outside was a guy who said: I work here and I have a pen to give you. So they gambled and the oldest one got it. I thought he worked in that shop lol but he was a famous international who played for the national team. Luckily my son recognized him. He said: Aren't you Marc Overmars? Yeah yeah, lol.
Very modest guy. I was too shy to ask if I could make a pic of them lol as if he isnt used to that.

Rens is staaarrrstruck! :=D:
I've met quite a few celebs, actually, some because of things like conferences, workshops, retreats, booksignings, banquets, and sports and concert events. I guess I haven't thought too much about it, but overall I've really been pretty blessed to meet some really decent ppl of the 'celebrity' or even 'semi-famous' class.
One of whom, a sports figure and great guy, died recently, sadly too young, and also few others that have also passed recently who I really liked as well.
One I met as a child, at a schoolfriends BarMitzphah, and then I met a couple more times, many years later as an adult , unplanned and a pleasant surprise, (but without the Love-Sw
ning Rens had for the 'Futboller' guy.) :kids: :wink:
(I kid ya, Rens, ... I've had moments) (I am thinking of one just recently
