MoreCoffee Well-known member Valued Contributor Joined Jul 13, 2015 Messages 19,192 Location Western Australia Gender Male Religious Affiliation Catholic Political Affiliation Moderate Marital Status Single Acceptance of the Trinity & Nicene Creed Yes Jul 18, 2015 #2 For winter it is this: 4 or 5 peeled carrots chopped up in large chunks 5 or 6 peeled potatoes chopped up in chunks two 440 ml tins of diced tomatoes 2 large onions diced 3 tablespoon fulls of tomato paste lots of pepper (white is best) 500 g of diced lamb or beef some salt a little chilli enough water to make it up to 3 or 4 litres Cook slowly an hour on simmer after bringing it to the boil. You can add cauliflower if you like, or even chopped cabbage, I often add a turnip but avoid celery because celery can become overpowering when slow cooked.
