Seems to mee that He was smitten and afflicted of God is scriptural and also that God forsked Him on the cross otherwise why would Jesus have said so?

Jesus is God himself, he did not forsake himself.

Jesus quoted from a psalm while he was on the cross. "My God, my God! Why have you forsaken me" is from Psalm 22:1 ("My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? ") the statement ought to be read with some care because it is a quote from something that David wrote about himself and since he is a type of Christ the passage has meaning both in David's life and in Christ's but the meaning in Christ's life is fulfilment rather than as earthly type.

CHRIST DESCENDED INTO HELL
632 The frequent New Testament affirmations that Jesus was "raised from the dead" presuppose that the crucified one sojourned in the realm of the dead prior to his resurrection.[SUP]477 [/SUP]This was the first meaning given in the apostolic preaching to Christ's descent into hell: that Jesus, like all men, experienced death and in his soul joined the others in the realm of the dead. But he descended there as Saviour, proclaiming the Good News to the spirits imprisoned there.[SUP]478[/SUP]

633 Scripture calls the abode of the dead, to which the dead Christ went down, "hell" - Sheol in Hebrew or Hades in Greek - because those who are there are deprived of the vision of God.[SUP]479 [/SUP]Such is the case for all the dead, whether evil or righteous, while they await the Redeemer: which does not mean that their lot is identical, as Jesus shows through the parable of the poor man Lazarus who was received into "Abraham's bosom":[SUP]480 [/SUP]"It is precisely these holy souls, who awaited their Saviour in Abraham's bosom, whom Christ the Lord delivered when he descended into hell."[SUP]481 [/SUP]Jesus did not descend into hell to deliver the damned, nor to destroy the hell of damnation, but to free the just who had gone before him.[SUP]482[/SUP]

634 "The gospel was preached even to the dead."[SUP]483 [/SUP]The descent into hell brings the Gospel message of salvation to complete fulfilment. This is the last phase of Jesus' messianic mission, a phase which is condensed in time but vast in its real significance: the spread of Christ's redemptive work to all men of all times and all places, for all who are saved have been made sharers in the redemption.

635 Christ went down into the depths of death so that "the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live."[SUP]484 [/SUP]Jesus, "the Author of life", by dying destroyed "him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and [delivered] all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage."[SUP]485 [/SUP]Henceforth the risen Christ holds "the keys of Death and Hades", so that "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth."[SUP]486[/SUP]

Today a great silence reigns on earth, a great silence and a great stillness. A great silence because the King is asleep. the earth trembled and is still because God has fallen asleep in the flesh and he has raised up all who have slept ever since the world began. . . He has gone to search for Adam, our first father, as for a lost sheep. Greatly desiring to visit those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, he has gone to free from sorrow Adam in his bonds and Eve, captive with him - He who is both their God and the son of Eve. . . "I am your God, who for your sake have become your son. . . I order you, O sleeper, to awake. I did not create you to be a prisoner in hell. Rise from the dead, for I am the life of the dead."[SUP]487[/SUP]

In short: By the expression "He descended into hell", the Apostles' Creed confesses that Jesus did really die and through his death for us conquered death and the devil "who has the power of death" (⇒ Heb 2:14). In his human soul united to his divine person, the dead Christ went down to the realm of the dead. He opened heaven's gates for the just who had gone before him.

It's easy to trash someone's preacher, anyone can do that.
Anyone can list names and errors of Preachers.

One thing anyone cannot do is forgive them.

Satan does good enough on his own without our help.

This is the Gospel Truth, this should clear up the Spiritual condition of Christ when he descended to Hell for God's purposes.
Luke: 23. 44. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

He was God's final offering for the sins of Mankind,he bore our sins upon himself.

He was sinless simply because he was our sacrifice in Spirit does not mean he was a sinner to suffer Hell.
Satan would have tried to stop his death if he knew what was to come.

Christ conquered death Hell and the grave.

So you agree that Copland is a false teacher promoting blasphemy.

It's easy to trash someone's preacher, anyone can do that.

Satan does good enough on his own without our help.

This sounds great on the surface but we are called to point out those who teach falsehood and expose them (Rom 16:17)

Nothing is gained if we merely shrug and mentally forgive someone for preaching serious error, if they continue to preach error. It's nothing to do with helping Satan, if someone is teaching a different gospel Paul said "let him be accursed" (Gal 1:8-9). In Jude we see the call to "earnestly contend for the faith" (Jud 1:3). Paul urged the Thessalonians to "test all things, hold fast what is true" (1Th 5:21). We do nobody any favors unless we call out false teaching for what it is. If the teacher accepts they were wrong and repents, we can forgive and restore. If the teacher wants to discuss why they believe they are right we can borrow the verse from Is 1:11, "let us reason together" and "iron sharpens iron" (Prov 27:17) and seek truth. If, as some teachers have been known to do, they merely hide behind lots of bluff and bluster and claims that their words are "filled with so much truth it would take you a lifetime to eat all of it (the precise words of one Brent Engelman, on the blog post that mentioned him at http://www.spiritoferror.org/2014/02/nar-prophet-bob-jones-dies/4842) one might conclude that not only can they not back their claims with Scripture but they would rather not even have the discussion at all.

... which comes back to the "test all things" meme, and how if we come across anything that doesn't want to be tested we might do well to wonder why.

Yes and as it says in Corinthians God has called us to peace

Peace, but not at the expense of sound teaching. Emphasis is mine in the following verses:

Rom 16:17-18 NKJV Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. (18) For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

Gal 6:1 NKJV Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

Jas 3:1 NKJV My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

2Co 11:13-15 NKJV For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. (14) And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. (15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

We need to avoid false teachers, we need to restore people who fall into sin, teachers will receive a stricter judgment, and deceitful workers don't face a happy ending when it's all over. Why would we seek peace, if the fate of these people is anything but peaceful?

The verses posted are true, but I have to question the reason for the accusations.

One might think oh well I stand on God's word for my foundation.

The NKJ is nothing to do with the King James.

So we begin a reference with a imposter, then we call others false teachers.
