Call it what you will and I will stand by what i say. When your country has been overrun to the point of not being able to take care of them I dont think you have a lot of room to talk. America was founded on immigrants and still to this day takes in so many of them

Yes, 10,000 over the next few years fro Syria is the current promise from the USA.

Germany took in around 1,000,000 in 2015.

Except I didnt bring it to task about it policy regarding immigration

Seems that you did bring the USA up specifically to mention immigration.

In other words lets not look at anything else because it blows up your attacks on the USA. Of course they are counted as they add up and there has to be a limit on how manhy you allow in a country

Of course there's a limit but it's not as if America is splitting at the seams.

"tipping point" is one of those phrases that has very little meaning in economics.

If you spend more than your budget all the time then at some point it will reach a point of no return and I fear thatas a country we are there

The unreality to which the thread's first post refers is not economic.

In other words you dont wish to talk about this so i will leave this thread to you to discuss as you wish, however if you think economics dont enter into the refugees you are dead wrong, it costs money to take care of them and get them established, a lot of money.

The thread is about distorted perceptions of danger and even delight in the plight of some refugees because of fears and other things that are felt and believed by some of the public in many wealthy nations.

A trillion dollar deficit isn't the result of a few thousand refugees. Across most of the western world we need a major exercise in budget cutting before it's forced on us by creditors.

Didnt say it was and our deficiet is 19 trillion not 1. The fact rtemains that they need support for a time and it costs money especially if it is in the thousands of refugees

We haven't taken many. England and Germany and such took the most. Every week we pray against attacks. A lot get saved.

The debt is closer to 19 trillion, the annual deficit is more like 1 trillion.

The deficit is the annual surplus or shortfall in budgeting, the debt is the accumulated total of the surpluses and deficits. It's something politicians seem to like to kludge, because reducing the deficit merely means the debt grows at a slower pace. To reduce the debt means eliminating the deficit and turning it into a surplus, which can then be used to gradually erode the debt.

But anyway, the lesson of the Good Samaritan remains challenging in so many ways.

Yes as a whole? I thought in the other threads you were saying we shouldn't take any of them in because some of them might be dangerous?

I said they should be vetted, I never said they should not be taken at al. Common sense checks should always be done, to many want us to just rush in and yes they should be counted towards our immigration numbers, the cost has to be counted, just ask Europe about it.
