Here are powerful, detailed examples of modern-day miracles that reveal the active presence of the Holy Spirit—healing, resurrection, protection, and divine intervention that defy natural explanation.

🔥 Modern-Day Miracles: Evidence of the Spirit at Work
1. Baby Born with No Heartbeat — Tennessee, USA
• A mother gave birth after a difficult labor. The baby had no detectable heartbeat for over 10 minutes and was declared stillborn.
• As the parents began praying aloud, asking God to breathe life into their son, the baby suddenly gasped and began to cry.
• Today, the child is a healthy five-year-old. Doctors had no medical explanation.
• Spiritual Insight: The breath of life returned through intercessory prayer. This mirrors Ezekiel 37 — dry bones coming alive.

2. Paralyzed Man Walks — Lagos, Nigeria
• A man paralyzed from the waist down for three years was brought forward during a church service.
• As the congregation prayed, he felt warmth in his legs. Moments later, he stood and walked across the platform.
• Scans showed no spinal damage. His testimony has inspired thousands.
• Spiritual Insight: This echoes Acts 3 — Peter and John healing the lame man. The Spirit still restores mobility and dignity.

3. Leukemia Healed After Prayer & Fasting — California, USA
• A woman diagnosed with aggressive leukemia was given less than six months to live.
• Her church began a 40-day cycle of prayer and fasting. After chemotherapy, her cancer went into full remission.
• Her oncologist called it “medically improbable.” She credits divine healing.
• Spiritual Insight: This aligns with James 5:14–15 — the prayer of faith shall save the sick.

4. Teen Survives Fatal Car Wreck — Georgia, USA
• In a multi-car pileup, one vehicle was crushed beyond recognition. First responders expected no survivors.
• Inside, they found a teenage girl unconscious but alive, with no broken bones.
• She later recalled hearing a calm voice say, “You are not done yet,” before blacking out.
• Spiritual Insight: Angelic protection and divine assignment. Psalm 91:11 — “He will command His angels concerning you.”

5. Miraculous Provision — India
• A rural pastor and his family ran out of food during a drought. They prayed and fasted.
• The next morning, a stranger arrived with bags of rice and lentils, saying he felt “compelled by God” to deliver them.
• The man had traveled 40 miles without knowing their situation.
• Spiritual Insight: This mirrors Elijah’s provision in 1 Kings 17 — God sends supply through obedience.

6. Woman Healed of Blindness — Brazil
• A woman blind for over 12 years attended a revival meeting. During worship, she felt heat in her eyes and began to see light.
• Within minutes, her vision returned completely. Doctors confirmed the reversal of optic nerve damage.
• Spiritual Insight: This mirrors John 9 — Jesus healing the man born blind. The Spirit still opens eyes.

7. Man Survives Lightning Strike — Uganda
• A pastor was struck by lightning while preaching outdoors. He was thrown several feet and lost consciousness.
• After prayer from the congregation, he revived with no burns or neurological damage.
• Spiritual Insight: Divine protection in the midst of natural disaster. Psalm 91:7 — “A thousand may fall at your side… but it will not come near you.”

8. Drug Addict Instantly Delivered — New York, USA
• A man addicted to heroin for 15 years walked into a church service. During altar ministry, he collapsed and began weeping.
• He later testified that the craving was gone instantly. No withdrawal symptoms followed.
• Spiritual Insight: This is Acts 2 power — transformation through the Spirit’s fire. Deliverance is still real.

9. Child Raised from Drowning — Philippines
• A 7-year-old boy was pulled from a river after being underwater for several minutes. He had no pulse.
• His mother cried out to Jesus, and bystanders joined in prayer. The boy coughed and began breathing.
• He was hospitalized and released with no brain damage.
• Spiritual Insight: Resurrection power in action. This echoes Mark 5 — Jesus raising Jairus’s daughter.

10. Provision During War — Ukraine
• A small church in eastern Ukraine ran out of food during the conflict. They prayed and fasted.
• Within days, a truck arrived from a Christian aid group that had “accidentally” rerouted to their village.
• The supplies sustained the community for weeks.
• Spiritual Insight: God’s provision in crisis. Philippians 4:19 — “My God shall supply all your needs…”

These miracles are not random. They follow the spiritual mechanics of Scripture: prayer, faith, worship, and surrender. They show that the Lord is still healing, protecting, providing, and transforming lives.

These miracles aren’t just anomalies—they’re signposts of the Spirit’s power, compassion, and presence. They remind us that the Holy Spirit is still active, still healing, still speaking, and still delivering.
Here's the accompanying song:

Modern Israel

✡️ Miracles of Israel: 1948 and Beyond
🌅 1948 War of Independence
Against All Odds: On May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence. Within hours, five Arab armies invaded. Israel had only 35,000 fighters, six tanks, and no real air force, while Egypt alone fielded 40,000 soldiers, 135 tanks, and 60 aircraft.
Yad Mordechai Kibbutz: 130 residents held off the Egyptian army for days using homemade weapons and even wooden “dummy soldiers.” This delay prevented Egypt from reaching Tel Aviv on schedule.
Jerusalem Siege Broken: With the main road blocked, Jews discovered and rebuilt an ancient Roman road at night under sniper fire. This “Burma Road” allowed supplies into Jerusalem, breaking the siege.
Safed Victory: The Israelis used the Davidka mortar, a noisy but inaccurate weapon. Arabs mistook it for a secret atomic bomb. At the same time, a rare rainstorm fell in May—seen as divine intervention—leading to Arab retreat.

⚔️ 1967 Six-Day War
Operation Focus: Israel launched a preemptive strike, destroying over 400 Egyptian aircraft in hours while they sat on the ground. This remains one of the most successful air campaigns in history.
Jerusalem Restored: Against predictions of massive casualties, Israel captured East Jerusalem, including the Western Wall and Temple Mount, fulfilling ancient prophecies about returning to Zion.
Improbable Victory: Israel faced four Arab nations with 456,000 troops, double the tanks, and quadruple the aircraft. Yet in six days, Israel tripled its territory, routing all enemies.

🕎 1973 Yom Kippur War
Surprise Attack: Egypt and Syria attacked on Yom Kippur, Israel’s holiest day. The IDF was caught off guard, but miraculous turnarounds occurred.
Valley of Tears (Golan Heights): A handful of Israeli tanks held off hundreds of Syrian tanks for days. Survivors testified to supernatural endurance and protection.
Crossing the Suez: Israel managed to cross into Egypt and encircle the Egyptian Third Army, forcing a ceasefire. Analysts still call it a military miracle.

🌍 Broader Themes of Miraculous Survival
Prophetic Fulfillment: The return of Jews to Jerusalem in 1967 is seen as fulfillment of Zechariah 8:7–8.
Improbable Victories: Each war began with Israel outnumbered and outgunned, yet ended with survival or expansion.
Global Awakening: These miracles sparked renewed faith among Jews worldwide, reminding them of God’s covenant promises.

✡️ Specific Miracles in Israel’s Formation
1. Lt. Vivian Gilbert at Michmash (WWI, 1917)

Context: During World War I, British forces were fighting the Ottoman Empire in Palestine. Lt. Vivian Gilbert, a British officer, was stationed near Michmash (north of Jerusalem).
Miracle: Gilbert opened his Bible one night and read 1 Samuel 14, where Jonathan and his armor-bearer defeated the Philistines at Michmash. He realized the terrain described in Scripture matched exactly where his unit was camped.
Application: Inspired, Gilbert used the same tactical approach Jonathan had taken — sending a small force through the pass. The Ottomans were caught off guard and fled, just as the Philistines had centuries earlier.
Outcome: This victory opened the way for British forces to advance, eventually leading to the fall of Ottoman control in Palestine. This was a critical step toward the eventual establishment of Israel in 1948.
Spiritual Insight: Scripture literally became a battle plan. The Word of God guided military strategy and shifted history.

2. The Balfour Declaration (1917)
Context: Just weeks after the British victory at Michmash, the British government issued the Balfour Declaration, promising support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
Miracle: The timing was extraordinary — military victory opened the land, and political favor opened the door.
Outcome: This declaration became the legal and diplomatic foundation for Israel’s rebirth.
Spiritual Insight: Isaiah 66:8 — “Can a nation be born in a day?” The declaration was a prophetic hinge.

3. The UN Partition Vote (1947)
Context: The United Nations voted on whether to partition Palestine and create a Jewish state.
Miracle: Against all odds, the resolution passed by two votes. Several nations that had been expected to oppose suddenly abstained or voted in favor.
Outcome: This vote legally sanctioned the creation of Israel.
Spiritual Insight: Proverbs 21:1 — “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord.” God shifted international hearts at the decisive moment.

4. Survival in the 1948 War of Independence
Context: Israel declared independence on May 14, 1948. Within hours, five Arab armies invaded.
Miracle: Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, Israel survived. Stories abound of Arab forces retreating after seeing “phantom armies” or being confused by the noise of the Davidka mortar.
Outcome: Israel not only survived but expanded its territory.
Spiritual Insight: Zechariah 12:6 — “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood.”

✡️ Israel Born in a Day (1948)
📜 Prophetic Foundation

Isaiah 66:8 — “Can a nation be born in a day? Can a country be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.”
• This verse puzzled scholars for centuries until May 14, 1948.
🌍 Historical Miracle
• On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of the State of Israel.
• Within 24 hours, the United States and Soviet Union recognized the new nation.
• Against all odds, Israel was legally and politically born in a single day.
• Within hours, five Arab armies invaded, expecting to crush the fledgling state. Instead, Israel survived and expanded its territory.
✨ Why It’s Miraculous
• No other nation in history has been scattered for nearly 2,000 years and then reconstituted in its ancient homeland.
• The timing aligned with prophecy, global politics, and the aftermath of WWII.
• The survival of Israel against overwhelming military odds in its War of Independence reinforced the sense of divine intervention.

📖 The Reconstruction of the Hebrew Language
📜 Prophetic Foundation

Zephaniah 3:9 — “Then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the Lord.”
• Hebrew, once considered a “dead language,” was revived to unify the Jewish people.
🌍 Historical Miracle
Eliezer Ben-Yehuda (1858–1922): Known as the “Father of Modern Hebrew.”
• He insisted his family speak only Hebrew at home.
• He created new words for modern concepts (train, electricity, newspaper).
• He compiled the first modern Hebrew dictionary.
• By the early 20th century, Hebrew was adopted in schools, newspapers, and daily life.
In 1948, Hebrew was declared the official language of the new State of Israel.
✨ Why It’s Miraculous
• No other language in history has been revived from liturgical use to full national use.
• Hebrew united Jews from dozens of countries who spoke Yiddish, Ladino, Russian, Arabic, and more.
• Today, Hebrew is spoken by over 9 million people, a living testimony to restoration

✡️ Miracles During the Raid on Entebbe (1976)
Operation Entebbe (also called Operation Thunderbolt)
was Israel’s daring rescue of hostages held in Uganda after an Air France hijacking. Several aspects were seen as miraculous:
Accurate Intelligence: Mossad pieced together exact layouts of the Entebbe terminal from released hostages and Israeli engineers who had helped build it years earlier.
Biblical Timing: The raid occurred on July 4, 1976—America’s bicentennial—symbolizing freedom and deliverance.
Phantom Strategy: Commandos used a Mercedes painted to look like Idi Amin’s car, driving straight to the terminal without resistance.
Distance Miracle: Israel flew 2,500 miles undetected, refueling in Kenya thanks to last-minute diplomatic favor—something considered impossible without divine cover.
Outcome: In 90 minutes, 102 hostages were rescued, all hijackers killed, and most Ugandan MiG fighters destroyed. Only one Israeli soldier (Yonatan Netanyahu) was lost.
Many survivors and soldiers testified that the operation’s success—given the odds—was nothing short of miraculous.

I'm a Lutheran and that means that we believe in the cessation of the gifts that you've been saying Christians need to do. They were only intended for a specific period of time. Now that doesn't mean that God can't work through people to do any of those things.

Don't lump all Christians into the same category. There are some who believe as you say, but not everyone does.

Not a matter of "need" or "should". Show me one person that wouldn't want a departed loved one back with the power of prayer, and I'll show you a person that will be wondering why Jesus supposedly promised this power and why it didn't work for them, and for the many other people who prayed over the dying and were of the same faith.

It is actually cruel to offer hope when there is none. To promise things that never come. Although I suppose on selling a Savior, the authors got carried away in numerous places. Miraculous in story form. Not at all in actual life.

Looking at your post, you're criticism seems to be that Christianity is not real, or true, because God does not do as he is ordered to do.

We were never told that he would, in fact at the beginning of the Lord's prayer we petition that it is his will that is done (not ours).

The practice of True Christianity involves bringing our will into alignment with God's will, not God's will into alignment with ours.

It's surprising how many think they understand this but do not. Being Christian is not about being a Magician, it is about being a servant of God and doing his will as he wishes it done (or at least trying to do it to the best of our abilities with the knowledge that he will supply what we lack in order that it is done as he has willed it be done).

You are correct, I no longer believe in Christianity, but in exiting this faith, I did a lot more research than merely consider the argument I presented in the original post. My exit took years, actually, and it involved retaking courage to get through the fear that Christianity presents (eternal Hell, promise of heaven) and having an honest look at it. Intellectually honest, and experientialy honest. It wasn't simply one argument, but a tidal wave of them.

That isn't to say there isn't good things about Christianity - some of it's teachings, I mean. "Love your neighbor as yourself"and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" are still very good general moral advice. I recognize, however, they didn't originate from Christ, these directives actually have earlier dates. Christianity borrowed them. Much like Judaism borrowed from the Legend of Sargon of Akkad when formulating the Moses birth story.

You can theorize and theologize the text. However, in my argument here, I'm only referring to the supposed words of Jesus that Christians call "the word of God". Christians frequently engage in what they call "apologetics" to get out of problems the bible presents, and while some of these apologetics could possibly have merit, many are simply sly and deceitful misdirections. Take Christ's last words on the cross before he dies, for instance. When "apologizing" for this (the 3 different versions presented in the Gospels)...all of a sudden Christians will change the meaning of "last words" as if they apply across a larger time frame rather than being last words.

In other words. 1,2,3,4,5,6 - in this sequence everyone knows 6 is the last if reading from left to right. But if it's 5 or 1 in a different version of "God's Word" - then all of a sudden no one knows what the last digit actually is. This is the kind of apologetics that require mental gymnastics and clear intellectual dishonesty. I'm glad to be leaving that behind.

Since you list yourself as a Deist and don't accept the Trinity and Nicene Creed I have to ask: Did you ever?

If you did, what was it that you actually believed in? Consider that Proverbs (23:7) teaches us that the the innermost thinking of a man (that which is in his heart) is seen in what he is.

I was brought up in this faith. Yes, I believed as a young person. I went to church on my own as a young man. I actually met my wife arguing for this faith (she is deceased). People who know this user name know I used to post at Christian Forums, which I wouldn't have joined had I not had a connection to Christianity. I did not always list as a Deist. That was a designation I took for this MB, because I could see my growing skepticism (particularly with Saul/Paul) separated me, at least to some extent, out of mainstream Christianity.

You seriously misunderstand what Christianity is, which is why you've left it. Your complaints about it has nothing to do with Jesus saving us from our sins, forgiving them by His death and resurrection.

I know exactly what it is. It is a religion of control, based on belief. A person is born with a debt to the Jew God Yahweh/Jehovah for which he/she must believe in a sacrifice to guarantee him "salvation" from an eternal Hell or guarantee him an eternal Paradise if he/she submits.

It is a TRANSACTIONAL religion where one "earns" their "salvation" in the afterlife by either belief or action (depending on the flavor of Christianity - Catholic or Protestant).

It was FORCED on the European People. Through inquisitions, torture and other methods.

Most Christians are DISHONEST and COWARDLY (with reference to their religious beliefs). Can any answer this question with honesty? Most cannot without twisting it :

Just a couple of extra thoughts that floated through my mind while I was drifting in and out of sleep.

If I was able to heal the sick, raise the dead etc through a power that belonged to me and worked according to my will, you can be sure I'd be quite happy to demonstrate it to any film crew that would show up. It would be quite a nice money spinner - who needs expensive and distressing medical procedures when you can go and visit this one guy who, for a very reasonable price, will make all your ailments disappear overnight. The price wouldn't even need to be that reasonable - can you imagine the market for someone who could make the lame walk with just a touch, who could make diseases like cancer and MS go away in an instant? If all that was down to me and my own power you'd be able to spot my car in the parking lot from a mile off - it would be a legendary hypercar, customised beyond what you could even imagine.

But when the idea is to give the glory to God, and the power comes from God and therefore isn't a plaything to use to make a fortune for myself, it's not about me. I don't want a film crew because the film crew is going to want to focus on me. The film crew isn't going to want to hear a sermon about awkward stuff like repenting, taking up your cross and doing what someone else tells you to do.

Personally I don't ever want to see words like "international ministries" after my name. That's the kind of thing that so easily makes people feel like they are special, and the focus shifts from God onto the person, which in turn provides breeding grounds for things like pride and greed. That's not a good place for a ministry to go.

As is always the case (which is why it's a waste of time to talk to such persons), you never experienced God when you were supposedly regenerated. If that had have happened to you you would not be able to deny it and therefore your anti-Christian stance is worthless.

I think I understand most of what you are saying and you are right in many ways.
But please allow me to share a few more thoughts;

It is a religion of control, based on belief.

Sadly Christianity has been misused to control people and that still happens today.
But this is not based on Jesus' teachings to love your neighbor.

It is a TRANSACTIONAL religion

Mark wrote:
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many.(10:45)

I'm sure you know that Saul had a very religious upbringing, knowing the Scriptures really well.
But first he persecuted the Christians until he met the risen Christ.
That changed everything.

Matthew wrote: (16v15-17)
He (Jesus) said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah!

For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Therefore no amount of apologetics etc can fully reveal the true Christ.

It is good that you do your own research and don't just follow our "Religion"
But I still want to encourage you don't give up and seek the Risen Christ.

If it's a waste of time, why are you wasting your time in this thread quoting and responding? Can you not see the hypocrisy of your own actions/words?

I never claimed to be "regenerated". I claimed to be a believer, which I was. I actually still believe in a fair amount of Divine Law the bible happens to spell out in "revealed words of God" - but which I actually know is simply appropriated from other cultures where it was also sometimes "revealed" to their god or gods. Christianity is a copy cat religion, and so is Judaism. It takes Divine law and points to "saviors" (First Moses, then Jesus) that it can control.

Have you gotten your manhood snipped yet? Matthew 19:12. If people like me were in power Christians would be forced to obey these words of Christ, if they wanted to claim Jesus as their savior.

Here's a Modern Day Miracle:

I used strict math, logic, and science to show Grok (Elon Musk’s AI) that God is real and that materialism doesn’t hold up — it admitted it.

But then, when I asked how life began, it defaulted right back to evolution… Note that this interaction with Grok 4 is intended to be for educational purposes only. Although Grok 4 has been touted by its founder Elon Musk as the most sophisticated AI currently on the planet (with better comprehension than most PhDs in all fields simultaneously), we are not claiming Grok 4 will always provide accurate information or represent current scientific arguments as human experts perhaps would.

For specific, current information in any area, we suggest you look up peer reviewed articles from reputable journals. However, we welcome people apply the same parameters (strict logic, mathematical probability and observational science) and ask Grok 4 the same questions we have to see the results for themselves, understanding that Grok 4 pulls data from a wide range of sources and can make accurate conclusions based on current scientific data in many circumstances.

For a better understanding of AiG’s stance on the use of AIs (published prior to Grok 4’s release), please read the article What Only People Can Do: The Limits of Large Language Models, How to navigate a dangerous new technology by Harry F. @jswauto You're doing just what I expect Christians to do. Redefine "miracle" outside the context of the Bible so that Christians can claim miracles by the new definition. Pathetic.

And you've been posting music, at least one of which you deleted? What's the purpose of that? Do you think I'm impressed by the Christian whipped-dog, I'm so sinful, save me jew god stuff? It made me want to take a shower. Then watch this.

REMOVED [Song promotion of anti-Christian ideas not allowed]

You know what I already know, without researching the band members? The composers and performers are all Nordic. Not Africans, not Indians, not Chinese. Not mixed. Nordic. Not just on the Theme of the music - but the talent, creativeness and level of skill.

Well at least you admit you never were a real Christian. A real Christian isn't just a "believer". That would be called a nominal Christian. A real Christian is spiritually regenerated or born again and they know God exists. So thank you for being honest and vindicating why my position to not waste time talking to you is the valid one. I don't need to waste any more time on you.

In my experience on Christian themed message boards, going back...oh....30ish years or so, comments like this one are par for the course. As are constant wondering over what it "really means" to be "saved" etc. Every person is competing for the place of "god's chosen" and "god's real Christian". You are no different. Just another "anonymous member" (join date 2025) with whatever agenda and ego you're promoting. Good luck with that. How satisfying is it to be a True Scottsman?

Good, leave my thread, since you cannot or will not answer the questions I asked in it. [Staff Removal]

You confirm my belief that people always end up showing who they really are.
