You can make your kitchen knives sharper by using the bottom of a ceramic mug! I have an old electric knife sharpener that wasn't doing any good to any of my knives but saw this last night and it worked great. All of my knives are ready to go now and can slice through paper once again.

Curious. I've usually used something like an oilstone but this seems quicker and cleaner.

It only took a few minutes!!! Bottom of plates can have that same coarse ceramic edge but the mug is higher off the counter so you won't hurt anything when running the knife along the edge. Choose a really coarse bottom for better results.
