I've reached the point where I would love to never have to drive again.
Having been in an accident a couple years ago, which totaled my car
(everyone involved was fine, no injuries) didn't exactly boost my
enthusiasm either.

Don't know if I'll bite the bullet and do so, but I often talk of getting rid
of my car and just walking / bicycling to where I need to go. Taxis for
longer trips. The money I'd save alone would make it worthwhile.
I know someone who bikes all the time. She's an expert. Can fix a flat and everything.
I wanted to be a bicycle repairman when I grew up. I'm still waiting. :)

I really do need to learn how to do that, myself. So far I've never had a flat, but I'm sure the day is coming, lol!

Yay! I'm in! I rode my bike everywhere when I was younger. Blue, TenSpeed FreeSpirit!
Now I'm ready for the more balanced, slower pace of a 3wheeler with a big basket.
And I already have a bell. Rring-rring! :bike:

If you live near a city where there is public transportation it's easy to get rid of the car. I know what you mean about having an accident and the fear afterward. I'm glad no one was hurt.

You mentioned money saved by not having a car and that's true. Insurance, gas, oil changes, repairs, etc... cars are so costly. I'm actually considering having us go down from 2 cars to one but then that leaves me in the country without a ride and I do like to go to the park to hike. Too far to bike and too dangerous.
