Thank you all for guidance, it is one thing where decision shouldn’t be instantaneous and haste. I will pray for God’s help and consider the points you have given.

My husband and I dated 6 years before we got married...but we started dating when we were teenagers.

Oh that is great to know, the problem is we Indians don't do dating years back. Now many have started dating, we used to marry the girl/boy whom our relatives or friends suggest.

Would you ever trust your parents/family to find you a bride? I don't think I'd have the guts to live with my parents' choice!

Jason is correct, since so many are breaking the laws and moving form one caste to another caste. Somewhere 10 to 25% people are using arrange marriages from elders at this time and India had gone like US.
The problem is at Girls side as they are making guys to fall in love with them, but these love marriages are **** in these days.

Ha ha ha bharath we are so spoiled by the movies and things we hear from our relatives. If it is true love and both find that they are made for each other then the bond will be strong after marriage. If any doubt arises then the issue starts.. We Indians love these kind of things :D

That's great for you. Should you both stay faithful to each other and don't cheat and screw around, put each other first, and work through your issues both emotionally and financially. Then you're going to have a successful and steady marriage. I didn't have that in my marriage and that's why it didn't work.

Thank you, yes staying faithful to each other is the no 1 thing. Forgiving and forgetting issues will surely help.

If you are happy being on your own then I see nothing wrong with remaining that way. It is better to remain alone and be happy than to get married and both parties be miserable.

Plus, like @Lämmchen said, you might change your mind one day. Maybe you just haven't met the right person yet. But until then, it's up to you to decide what is best for you and you are the only one that can decide that.

Congrats! Our anniversary is in January, too. January 16, 1985.

I can definitely relate. I sure hope it's all right for a Christian man to remain single because I'm never going to date again. I refuse to invite that kind of unnecessary drama back in to my life.
