Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross. Matt. 27:41, 42

Of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. Acts 4:27, 28

MORNING

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. I John 3:8

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph. 6:12

I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Cor. 15:57

EVENING

Vanity of vanities; all is vanity. Ecc. 1:2

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. I Thess. 5:5, 6

It is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Rom. 13:11, 12

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph. 6:13

My sheep hear my voice. John 10:27

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Rev. 3:20

I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer. Song 5:2, 6

Speak; for thy servant heareth. I Sam. 3:10

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us. Rom. 5:5

Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry, Abba Father. The spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. Rom. 8:15, 16

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. I John 5:10

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. I John 4:9

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. Matt. 10:25

This is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously. I Pet. 2:19-23

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye. I Pet. 4:14
