It is a very big assumption to make that just because someone does not share one's particular religious beliefs, they are without a conscience or have no sensitivity to things that are common to many faiths, Christianity included.
Why should any Christian be surprised if someone of any other faith takes a strong stance against theft or murder, or who is a thief or murderer who feels remorse for things they have done?
He has sheep who don't even know His name but follow Him. He has sheep who are not of "this" fold. They hear His voice and follow Him. God seems happy with that. To me that is saying, they have a moral compass, a conscience, integrity, common sense, have compassion, loving all around them, living to help others, and are truly looking for the only true Creator God.
At the moment Yeshua said it, there were those who were what He was talking about. Remember the centurion who came to Him about his daughter and afterwards Yeshua turned to those around Him and said, that He has not seen such faith in all of Israel. There were no Christians at that time.I thought those verses were indicative of the Gentiles when spoken to the Jews since they thought they were an exclusive club?
I do think there are some "non-Christians" who are given faith yet ever so small that it is (not fully rejecting it) and someday it will grow inside of them, maybe even at their deaths. It's not the amount of faith for salvation.
