Bread pudding

Bread pudding is a bread-based dessert popular in many countries' cuisines. It is made with stale bread and milk or cream, generally containing eggs, a form of fat such as oil, butter or suet and, depending on whether the pudding is sweet or savory, a variety of other ingredients.

I like bread pudding, but wow, so fattening! We only make it once a year and that's mostly at Christmas because it was a tradition in my husband's family. This year I tried keeping some bread in the freezer ahead of time, but when I thawed it, it tasted like ziplock baggies. Ew. So I tossed that and just used regular bread and kept it out for a few days to get stale. I also didn't put as much milk this time, which was bad but we added more milk later when we re-heated it.

Do you like raisins in yours? I add just a bit, because too much is awful and it burns my tongue when those things are super hot.
