What are going on about? Is emotion bad or something?
I read scripture everyday but im sorry if I get a little "emotional" when praising God.
Our prayer meetings may get a little "emotional" from time to time.
I get "emotional" often when reading scripture... I dont get you.
I dont care what you have seen or heard because you have not seen our heard the church I attend. These people are changed by the word of God and the grace of God.
I am shocked at your utter self righteous church bashing, are you damning my fellowship?

I'm begging you to make an argument from scripture. Please. This is a theology forum. When will we look at scripture to form our theology? When?

Please elaborate, have you gone into these churches and observed?

I'm going into this thread and observing. I keep waiting for someone to form their theology from scripture rather than from church membership. This forum is called Christian Theology. If we are going to talk about a blood curse, can we look at scripture to evaluate what God says?

Mathew 27:25 & Nazis 1941-45

This was an opinion thread and I wanted some insight, I cannot argue now that I agree.

Thanks, we have wooden ones, but cushions for the elderly.
Thankfully we read and study the Bible as well. The scriptures reveal God, his character and his attributes. If you don't have one, I can borrow you one, or you can download a bible app.

lol
I do own exactly 5 copies of the Bible, one is an app tho :)
Perhaps i'll join in your theology thread. I'm waiting for an example I guess so get the ball rolling. Discussing the scriptures with others is probably the single most important ways of holding Gods people together lest they forsake themselves.

That's an impressive collection MC. I don't know how many different translations I have in print. It's quite a few but don't think it's anywhere near as high as 20. A few date back to my younger years, a few are things my wife collected over the years and a few came from assorted deceased relatives.

Off the top of my head I think we have physical copies of the KJV, NKJV, NIV, RSV, NLT, GNB, ASV, ESV and the Message (given it's a paraphrase I'm reluctant to call it a translation but, you know...). In electronic form there are more and a few closely related versions, but when adding a new version is as quick as clicking "Download" and doesn't necessarily cost anything it's easy to collect them :)

I doubt that anyone else is going to top 20 different translations (!), but it's an interesting question which versions people have come across. In addition to the usual ones, I've picked up Lamsa, Phillips, and Beck, and they're all really interesting to read (not that I'm making any claims for them one way or the other).

Now that I think about it, I used to have a copy of the New World Translation, but I discarded it.

I forgot one. I picked up a copy of the New Testament in Pennsylvania Dutch one year, on the basis a friend of mine owned a Christian bookshop (needless to say she sold Bibles, in a wide variety of languages) and I wanted a Bible in a language she had never seen before. I was successful in that :)

I have a Finnish language Bible from when my ancestors came across the pond. It's like reading in tongues. I need someone to interpret. Good thing for the Google translate app...
