Who do you think he will pick for a vice president running mate? News reports say that he has formed an exploration committee to look into this recently. He has already said he would pick a female vice president candidate

I kind of thought Hilary Clinton would get into his ear and be the nominee. Do you think he'll live for a full 4 years to serve the country?

It will be a woman, but who that might be is hard to say.

VP candidates normally are chosen with three criteria in mind--1) bring some state with its Electoral College votes safely into the "win" column for the ticket, 2) the VP nominee shouldn't overshadow, upstage, or embarrass the Presidential nominee, and 3) create some kind of balance on the ticket.

So which woman on the national scene fits that bill the best?

He needs to pick someone smarter and just more alert than himself. So, anyone will do.

But because sexism, racism, etc. all REIGN in the Democrat Party, he might select an agnostic, vegetarian, married lesbian woman who is half African American and half Hispanic, owns an abortion clinic, and who has traded in her car for a horse and is has been on welfare most of her life but now makes billions aborting babies. The Democrats would LOVE that! And it would get the attention of Joe (which is absolutely essential!).

A woman fitting that bill is tricky. I'm hearing all sorts of proposals for a non-white woman (because, you know, racism) but it seems to me that Biden is going to be faced with a dilemma of his own making. If he chooses a non-white woman the chances are he's going to rally the party faithful (the ones who would "vote blue no matter who") and massively turn off moderate Republicans and many floating voters. But if he chooses a white woman he'll just show how racist he really is, and if he chooses a man he'll prove himself to be racist and sexist.

Or he could end up choosing Queen Hillary, knowing she'll almost certainly end up as president.

What's rather curious is that it seems the same people who were trying to use the 25th (?) Amendment to get rid of Trump based on the claim he wasn't mentally competent now want Biden to replace him.

Biden is 77 right now, Trump is 73. They are both too old and need to retire

I'd really like to see the immediate families of Bush, Clinton and Obama disqualified. If this is supposed to be the land of opportunity the last thing we need is for the presidency to become dynastical.

Perhaps what we need is term limits for the presidency paired with at least three or four different presidents before immediate family members can stand, paired with term limits for Congress and the Senate. That would rule out Jeb Bush and GWB"s children, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Michelle Obama and the Trump children.

She's a Republican. The last time anyone selected a VP from the other party was Abe Lincoln (and he ended up being impeached).

But I agree, she checks most of the needed boxes: She's a she, she's not white, she can think and has no memory issues, she CLEARLY would outshine Joe and thus help get the attention off of him. The Democrats need this: "Well, at least the VICE PRESIDENT is good."

Serious question here - if Trump appointed Rice as his running mate in November would you consider her to sufficiently good as a VP to choose him to be president?
